So, it's that time of year again, where I put several plot bunnies and/or WIPs up for grabs, and y'all vote on them to tell me which one to update. The [livejournal.com profile] multific finishathon is the chief reason I never allow "add to a WIP" for one of my reward/request posts; this is when you get to tell me to do that.

Up for grabs this time: that Tin Man sequel story (unposted yet); Adventures in Rome; Book's Legacy; See For Yourself; [livejournal.com profile] backagainharry; [livejournal.com profile] lesser_men_saga; The Grail Prophecies; and, Uncle John.

I already know which is going to win, I think. But I thought I'd leave several options, regardless! You'll find my poll with the story details here, at the dreamwidth community. There are 14 other authors to vote for, as well!

Whichever one y'all choose, I'll have to add 7,000 words to by June 8. *grin*
jedibuttercup: Michelle Trachtenberg as Dawn Summers (lm - dawn)
PG-13, B:tVS/Stargate SG-1; 3900 words. (Part 5 of See For Yourself; for [livejournal.com profile] multific.)

They were supposed to have taken a lot more time to get to know each other, gradually establishing trust, before they even thought about pulling back the curtains. But then again, when had that ever worked out before?

5: Conflicting Priorities )

(x-posted to [livejournal.com profile] stargate_xing; chapter also at AO3.)
jedibuttercup: Buffy Summers (lm - slayer)
PG-13, B:tVS/Stargate SG-1; 3400 words. (Part 4 of See For Yourself; for [livejournal.com profile] multific.)

What she chose here didn't just affect her, it affected all the other girls who might have been her if not for an accident of timing-- and the friends who still had faith in her, despite everything.

4: Unwelcome Revelations )

(x-posted to [livejournal.com profile] stargate_xing; full story also at AO3.)

So: the finishathon voting opened yesterday.

I'm... actually surprised by the way the voting is going at present. I plan to write at least one chapter for each of those stories by the end of the year, regardless; in some cases, it's been awhile. But the one I thought would win, of those? Is currently third, at nine total votes to the current winner's twenty. Not that I mind; I adore all my major universes. But it's quite unexpected, given recent commentary traffic, and given last year's voting.

Anyway. If you, my faithful readers, also want to have an influence on which story I will commit 10,000 words to by the end of October? Click on the link above, and vote before August 23rd. (And consider voting in the other polls as well).

Hello! So, I'm participating in the [livejournal.com profile] multific Finishathon again this year. This time, I've only put three stories up for voting, and whichever one gets the most votes, I'm committed to add 10,000 words to before the two-month deadline.

ANYONE can vote in the 2nd poll under my name here, at the voting post, until Thursday.

Stories I've put up for grabs listed behind the cut: )

So-- go ye, therefore, and tell me which one to write!

*flopping on floor* So, I've managed to post 7,500 words' worth for the finishathon.

The Index for "Book's Legacy" is here. The first 6.5 chapters been rewritten a little, but not terribly much. If you prefer to skip over all of the old stuff and go straight to the new, though, the new chapters are as follows, all posted to [livejournal.com profile] watching_river:

7. Plotting Sequences
8. Deep Cleaning
9. Disrupted Rhythms

I have more scribbles, but I might not get them up this weekend, as my best friend out in Eastern Oregon whose phone number stopped working months ago suddenly called me today and informed me she's inbound and wants to get together this weekend. Eeee!!! I've missed her so, so much, and I haven't seen her son since before he was crawling; he's eighteen months old now.

I can't wait for her to get here, but it does mean I have to clean my house, and that's after I go and clean my mother's, which, she's probably over there wondering where the hell I'm at. TTYL!!!!!
jedibuttercup: (made of awesome)
The [livejournal.com profile] multific voting polls are up. Ironically enough, I have an entire voting post to myself; go there now and vote for what you want me to write next!

(As you have time, there are 43 other writers participating in the finishathon who would appreciate your votes, also, here: Part One and Part Two).

In other news, I have posted 23 entries to the [livejournal.com profile] twistedshorts August fic-a-day marathon. That's as many as I managed last year, and there are still a few days yet to go. Barring disaster striking one of the other participants, I'm still only going to come in 3rd, but that's okay. As long as I place at all, I already know what I'll be asking [livejournal.com profile] lisaroquin to write me as reward. =)

Pimp-age

Aug. 15th, 2006 09:46 am
jedibuttercup: (beware fainting fits)
I fell asleep on the couch last night before I could get Monday's fic-a-day finished for [livejournal.com profile] twistedshorts. That makes two days I've missed-- and with three others ahead of me tied for first place, I'm unlikely to win anything now. Oh well. It's still a very good excuse to get some of the smaller plot bunnies and challenge ideas out of my "WIP" folder and into fic form, and you never know, one of the others might fall behind.

In other news: things to pimp!

1. [livejournal.com profile] dialinghell made a Buffy & River wallpaper to go with my latest story, "Jie Jie". It's very pretty; go admire it here.

2. The finishathon is finally open!

I've submitted a list of several WIPs and plot bunnies there that I haven't had time to work on lately; at the end of the month a poll will be put up, people will vote to tell me which one to work on, and I'll have two months to finish it. (Last year, I did "Eclipse"). If you want to participate in the finishathon yourself-- or want to be able to tell me to write, say, "Book's Legacy" or "Hok Tau'ri" over any of the other choices-- you may want to friend [livejournal.com profile] multific.
