jedibuttercup: Keanu Reeves as John Wick (john wick)
T, Ares & John; John Wick 2; 1,100 words. Divergence AU with soulmarks; #5/5 for Yuletide 2022.

The charred, damp smell of a burned structure chilled by a soaking rain filled Ares' nostrils as she strode up the driveway to John Wick's legal address.

T, June Havens/Roy Miller; Knight and Day (2010); 1,800 words. Post-movie; #4/5 for Yuletide 2022.

It was like meeting Roy had unlocked something inside her that had been starving for adventure, that wanted someone to look at her like she was capable and amazing and worthy of moving mountains for. Someone who was worthy of her moving mountains, just for another chance to give them that look, too.

T, Dredd & Anderson; Dredd (2012); 2,400 words. Post-movie; #1/5 for Yuletide 2022.

The rookie who'd hesitated to execute the first perp with a death sentence not actively shooting at her wouldn't have been ready for the job the Chief had in mind, but the Judge who'd confidently dispensed justice despite believing she'd already cost herself the job definitely had the steel.

It's been an exhausting year, but I couldn't miss it! This will be my 16th year participating in [community profile] yuletide; not my first exchange, but definitely the most enduring. I love the whole atmosphere of fannish enjoyment that surrounds the challenge, and the opportunity to play in smaller or newer or old and dusty fandoms. And I also love waiting up to read whatever's been written for me: it adds an extra sparkle to my holiday season. So. Dear Yuletide Creator! I look forward to whatever you gift me with!

I adore action and romance and humor, but I also eat casefic and canon-divergent AUs and worldbuilding up with a spoon. I love complicated characters, and watching them interact is always a good time for me, whatever they're up to. So whatever you add to my fandom, I'm sure I'll be happy to receive. Though I will add some fandom-specific notes below to give you something to go by. :)

I do have a handful of general DNWs, though check the fandom DNWs, as there are occasional exceptions: incest, deliberate betrayal of trust between partners, "on-screen" non-consensual sex, permanent death of requested characters, and setting-change AUs. Any rating is fine (I definitely don't mind some porn in my plot, though I do enjoy gen as well). Angst or h/c is also A-OK, though lately I prefer more of the comfort than the hurt side of the scale.

If you want to stalk me, this is my main journal. You can also find me on AO3 at [archiveofourown.org profile] jedibuttercup. I am an extremely varied writer, mostly gen but with occasional 'ships (including m/f, m/m, f/f, and OT3s) and frequent fusions or crossovers (I am not asking for any this Yuletide, but I'll never turn down a fun cameo). But don't sweat it; celebrate our mutual small fandom in whatever way pleases you.

So, down to the details, in alphabetic order - BATTLE CREEK (TV); THE HITMAN'S BODYGUARD (MOVIES); SAFE (2012); SHARKNADO (MOVIES) )

I hope I've given you some things to be thoughtful about, rather than boxing you in or leaving you flailing. Feel free to ignore my prompts altogether if they don't inspire. Thank you again!
jedibuttercup: Kristen Stewart as Snow White (snow white)
T; Ravenna/Snow White; Snow White and the Huntsman (2012); 1500 words. Canon divergence; #2/2 for Yuletide 2020.

The Mirror had given Ravenna a truer answer than she knew: take her heart in your hand, and you shall never again need to consume youth.

T; Pitch Black (2000); pre-Johns/Riddick divergence AU, 1750 words. Fic #2 for Yuletide 2019.

Sure Johns wanted to take Riddick in for the bounty. But he wanted the win a hell of a lot more. Maybe that was a weakness. But their dance wasn't over yet.

T; Total Recall (2012), Pre-Lori/Doug/Melina divergence AU, 4800 words. Fic #1 for Yuletide 2019.

Lori pulled back from the hatch, rapidly calculating how this latest twist affected her options. Offloading with Cohaagen's men was still, objectively, her safest choice. But if there was any other possibility, she'd be an idiot not to find out.

jedibuttercup: A view of the castle of Camelot (camelot)
T; King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, 6000 words. Arthur & Mage. Fic #2 for Yuletide 2018.

He'd make the best of things, of course; if nothing else, his uncle had been right about his drive. But Arthur's reign had begun in fire and blood, even as his father's had ended, and he would not forget that.

So, 2018 was a pretty damn exhausting year for me. There was a significant uptick in stress as a result of several time- and energy-consuming RL situations, mostly family-related, and (as you may have noticed) that more or less wiped out my energy for online activities as well. Pretty much the only times I managed to post something were when I grabbed a deadline to give myself an excuse to make the time; I wanted to do more, but ... *shrug*

I have better hopes for 2019, though, with the worst part of the various RL messes behind me. And 2018 did end on an up-tick, at least! Part of which was an absolutely amazing 32k-word Yuletide gift.

If you're at all interested in the 2017 King Arthur movie, or Arthurian mythology in general, and you have a few hours to kill, please check it out and give the author some well-deserved love:
