For those of you who follow me but not the
tthdrabbles comm I moderate, I'll be running a challenge/competiton there for the next six weeks, in which I will reward frequent posters with fic of 1000+ words to their specifications. If you think you can stretch to at least one Buffy-crossover drabble a week, come chip in!
This is the text of what I posted to the comm:
I'll be posting the next challenge here in a few hours, but before I do that, I have another announcement to make. Since
tthdrabbles has been a little slow of late-- and not just during the period I was unexpectedly absent from the internet-- I'm going to throw a fic competition, complete with prizes.
The rules are simple. Write as many drabbles for the challenges here as you can, between now and my birthday. That's March 10th, nearly six weeks away. And for every author who writes six or more drabbles-- that's only one a week!-- I will write a minimum of 1,000 words of fiction in any of my fandoms, crossover or not, centered on any character you choose.
And there's more. For every drabble you write over the six-drabble limit, I will add 100 words to that minimum value. Which means if you were crazy enough to write sixteen, I'd have to give you at least 2,000 words of fic. Got it? Good!
Just FYI, fandoms I'm willing to write (or cross) for this competition include: B:tVS, A:tS, Firefly/Serenity, Harry Potter, Jane Austen, Stargate: SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, Star Trek (original series), Star Wars (original trilogy), CSI (Vegas), Pitch Black, Boondock Saints, Lord of the Rings, Doom (movie), Dracula 2000, Equilibrium, The Lake House, Jurassic Park, Independence Day, Godzilla (1998), Van Helsing, The Mummy... and perhaps others, if you ask nicely and I'm familiar with the material.
Is that motivation enough? Get writing, and then make me write for you! *grin*
In other news, I was scanning the watchlist for
crossover_news when I came across the following pairing tags in the Smallville newsletter, all for the same fic: Chloliver, Cliana, Bruois, eventual Clois
You know, I've never been especially fond of the smush-name pairing indicators, but I think that's just a leetle excessive. *shudders* WTF are casual readers supposed to make of that kind of coding?
