It's been an exhausting year, but I couldn't miss it! This will be my 16th year participating in

yuletide; not my first exchange, but definitely the most enduring. I love the whole atmosphere of fannish enjoyment that surrounds the challenge, and the opportunity to play in smaller or newer or old and dusty fandoms. And I also love waiting up to read whatever's been written for me: it adds an extra sparkle to my holiday season. So. Dear Yuletide Creator! I look forward to whatever you gift me with!

I adore action and romance and humor, but I also eat casefic and canon-divergent AUs and worldbuilding up with a spoon. I love complicated characters, and watching them interact is always a good time for me, whatever they're up to. So whatever you add to my fandom, I'm sure I'll be happy to receive. Though I will add some fandom-specific notes below to give you something to go by. :)

I do have a handful of general DNWs, though check the fandom DNWs, as there are occasional exceptions: incest, deliberate betrayal of trust between partners, "on-screen" non-consensual sex, permanent death of requested characters, and setting-change AUs. Any rating is fine (I definitely don't mind some porn in my plot, though I do enjoy gen as well). Angst or h/c is also A-OK, though lately I prefer more of the comfort than the hurt side of the scale.

I am an extremely varied writer, mostly gen but with occasional 'ships (including m/f, m/m, f/f, and OT3s) and frequent fusions or crossovers (I am not asking for any this Yuletide, but I'll never turn down a fun cameo). Fandom 1: Battle Creek (TV)
Characters: Russ Agnew, Milt Chamberlain

I really enjoyed Battle Creek, all the dynamics between the various characters and the quirky town they lived in (with its quirky crime and crime-solving methods), and I'm always happy with any fic in the fandom. Yes, still! I never get bored with it. Slice of life at the station; casefic; romance; having friendly downtime together; any fic at all. Milt's first case back with Russ, what their partnership is like five years down the road in Battle Creek, or realizations that happen when one of them is about to be reassigned or something else that would break up their partnership-- anything.

I've asked for AU fic in this fandom before, and have always been thrilled with the results; so, any other AUs that don't change who they are (chip-on-his-shoulder cop and suspiciously perfect agent) that you want to try out in this fandom? GO FOR IT. Maybe it's steampunk world! Maybe it's a century from now, and Battle Creek is actually a colony on Mars! Maybe insert-your-favorite-trope here has happened to the canon characters! Russ and Milt just seem like the perfect odd couple for that sort of thing, to me. :)

Just to reiterate, though: any Battle Creek story will always make my day. Feel free to include whatever other details, characters, or pairings you want, so long as Milt and Russ are firmly fore-grounded!

Fandom 2: The Hitman's Bodyguard (Movies)
Characters: Michael Bryce, Darius Kincaid, Sonia Kincaid

I could stare at these three doing batshit action comedy all day. The more reality- and sanity-defying and smile-inducing, the better.

Canon levels of Bryce playing the long-suffering guy who just wants to be good at his job (while actually being just as nuts as they are) to Darius and Sonia's more ruthless hitman + crazy conwoman mad-about-you couple (who actually do care in their own way) would be fab. What happens after they get off that boat at the end of the second movie - what foe do they get stuck facing together next? Or maybe Michael's trying to figure out how to rekindle his relationship with Amelia and the Kincaids insist on trying to 'help' him?

On the other hand, Michael/Darius/Sonia would also be amazing. Nothing is taboo with Darius and Sonia, and for all the protests, Michael has amazing chemistry with both of them! Maybe the paperwork at the end was Sonia's idea of making them a legal family in lieu of a threesome marriage, and for her the incest overtones are just added icing? Or AU that element if you prefer. Maybe Sonia decides it's only justice that since he accidentally gave Darius that plot-relevant wound, it's Michael's job to make it up to her - repeatedly and at length - and naturally also make it up to Darius? Maybe all that taunting on the boat was Darius' idea of an invitation? Or maybe some H/C scenario, within the plot of the movies or outside of it, led to one or the other character being comforted with sex-and-snark just as wild as the action-and-snark on screen.

But literally anything in the movie's tone, starring these three characters, would be amazing in this fandom. If you have fun with it, I will too.

Fandom 3: Safe (2012)
Characters: Luke Wright, Mei

I'm a huge fan of Jason Statham action films in general, especially the ones invoking Badass-and-Child tropes. In this case, his badass angsty-backstory action hero saves, and is also in turn saved by, a very stubborn, intellectually gifted young girl who has run afoul of bad guys connected to the ones who destroyed his life. I love that the movie puts them on fairly even footing, despite the difference in ages and experiences; he doesn't want to be her dad, and she's clearsighted about the realities of the world she's found herself in, and they only stick together because it's "good business"... but they DO stick together, because there's a found-family appreciation lurking behind that, too, choosing each other without getting too mushy.

I would love to see something set after the movie; virtually anything would be awesome, but I'd prefer if Mei retains that adult-like clearsightedness rather than trying to be a normal kid, and Luke doesn't suddenly start treating her like one. Slices of life; trying to negotiate roles in a household together; planning for the future; does the past ever catch up with them; what's school like for her after everything; etc. Roadtrip fic would be fab too: an experience alien to both of them but full of little snags and things to marvel at and learning to adjust. Or maybe drop some supernatural-related trope or holiday shenanigans into their determinedly practical lives, and provoke some new Badass-and-Child mayhem. :)

Include any other characters you like, whether OCs or canon, as long as Mei and Luke are the focus. (If any romance is included-- just make sure if Mei's involved, she's 17+.)

Fandom 4: Sharknado (Movies)
Characters: Finley "Fin" Shepard, April Wexler, Nova Clarke

These movies are the ultimate popcorn scifi: the characters aren't deeply developed and the plots are much more invested in finding thin excuses for shark-related mayhem than making scientific sense, but they are full of cameos and jokes and continual amazement at what will happen next, and I was never disappointed in any of it.

On the other hand, a serious or crack-taken-seriously look at any of it would also be fascinating! There are so many places the whole thing could have gone differently, right from the beginning; everything from steampunk to cyborgs to apocalypse to time travel to canonical AUs is already baked in. Anything (that does not hit my DNWs) goes!

I'm interested in these three characters in their canon Fin/April + Nova configuration, but I am also interested in the threesome option, or Fin/Nova + April, so long as the story ends happily for all three and there is still shark-related action somewhere in the fic.

Feel free to include any of the other characters from the series as well, cameo or otherwise, or throw in your own cameos; I just want to see the series' shark-fighting characters enjoying themselves in some fashion, whether that involves actually fighting sharks or not. :)
