jedibuttercup: (yuletide)
So, 2018 was a pretty damn exhausting year for me. There was a significant uptick in stress as a result of several time- and energy-consuming RL situations, mostly family-related, and (as you may have noticed) that more or less wiped out my energy for online activities as well. Pretty much the only times I managed to post something were when I grabbed a deadline to give myself an excuse to make the time; I wanted to do more, but ... *shrug*

I have better hopes for 2019, though, with the worst part of the various RL messes behind me. And 2018 did end on an up-tick, at least! Part of which was an absolutely amazing 32k-word Yuletide gift.

If you're at all interested in the 2017 King Arthur movie, or Arthurian mythology in general, and you have a few hours to kill, please check it out and give the author some well-deserved love:

View Tracking Year Twelve commences!

(The BFF, her husband and I may have watched some cheesy-bad TV for New Year's, so I thought I'd get this started before I crash. My Yuletide stories will go up here tomorrow!)

[2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017 | 2018]

If I round all TV episodes (whether live or DVD) up to the nearest half-hour mark and all movies to two hours total, then add in repeats, in 2018 I watched 700 total hours of on-screen entertainment (1.92 hours/day).

That's significantly up from 2017's numbers (590 hours, or 1.62 hours/day), but pretty much in line with 2016's and 2015's numbers. Though I suspect it would have been much closer to 2017's without the 110-hour chunk that was the 2018 Winter Olympics. :) It just seems to work out that way in my new apartment.

[In previous years, I watched 704.5 hours in 2016 (1.93 hours/day), 699 hours in 2015 (1.91 hours/day), 756.5 hours in 2014 (2.07 hours/day), 842.5 hours in 2013 (2.31 hours/day), 920 hours in 2012 (2.52 hrs/day), 785 hours in 2011, 777 in 2010, 677 in 2009, and 653 in 2008.]
