Two Hours I'll Never Get Back

Went to X-3 today with maevebran. (It's her birthday today, BTW, in addition to my parents' 30th wedding anniversary).

Others have said it better, and all over my f-list too, so I won't repeat too much. But I do have one question: Were any of the characters ever actually in character, in that entire movie? Magneto, maybe; some of the lesser characters I don't know so well, probably. But the rest? *blinks* I love these people, and I just could not believe the way they were acting most of the time, not to mention how utterly shallow the plot was. Whiskey tango foxtrot, my friends. I think I will live in denial after this as far as movieverse is concerned.

OTOH, I did get to see the trailer for Dead Man's Chest again. OMG, I have such an unholy lust for that movie, I may spontaneously explode the day it comes out. *drifts off into thought, drooling*

Well, you could always wait until you have nothing else to do and then take in a matinee, just so you'll know what exactly all the WTF was about.

There were some intriguing moments. And lots of pretty, pretty special FX. And some great one-liners; even Jean-whipped and whipsawing between running off like the rogue he is and running back to be Campus Daddy, Logan is entertaining to listen to, and Beast is a good addition. Just, you know. Brace for impact before you go in. =)

Oh, don't apologize. My life would be much less had I not seen either one: the WTF-ness must be seen to be understood!

For the record, though, American Dreamz was much, much worse. This one merely suffered from shallowness and OOCness. AD was... well, there just aren't words for it. *laughing*

Oh I'm glad that the WTFness was enjoyable. I enjoyed both . I liked X-men 3 but it was a wee OoC.

XX is the Roman Numeral for twenty. She's saying that you're both twenty... Only I know for a fact that you're both old enough to buy liquor. (Well, okay, I know for a fact that SHE'S old enough, but if you're both the same age...)

But that's okay. My mother's been 16 ever since I've known her. :-D

Oh, dear. I was looking forward to X3, I'm sorry to read such poor reviews. At least there were some good things about it. I will take it with a grain of salt, but it's too bad the trilogy seems to be ending on a letdown.
