I recently discovered the 100-ficlet challenge communities, notable among them

fanfic100,

tth100. You claim a character, or pairing, or fandom-in-general that hasn't already been pounced on, then proceed to write at least one ficlet per week according to the given prompts until (a) all of them are done or (b) you give up and pass the baton.

Naturally, because unlike the Operative I am a moron, I promptly signed up. I would have gone straight for the Mal/River, but

mjules was there before me; I'm still trying to think of a Firefly angle that is both (a) unclaimed and (b) inspiring enough for me to keep writing it. Until I come up with something, I will therefore be going with the one character who's consistently managed to get the ink flowing in the past, and will prove conducive to continuing some of my extant WIPs: Buffy Summers.
