Now that I've got the prompt post out of the way: meme time! I've seen this particular one all over my friends lists today, so. Let's see what it shows ....

the AO3 meme: work tags edition

1. What’s your first and second most common work ratings? Any surprises?

 Teen And Up Audiences (499)
 General Audiences (270)
 Mature (34)
 Not Rated (17)
 Explicit (1)

... Nope, no surprises at all. There's cursing, canon-compliant violence, and mild romantic activity in a lot of my stories, but T-rated sounds about right for most of it. I've never been comfortable getting very explicit in my writing.

(The NR's are pretty much all five-things type prompt lists, or similar.)

2. What’s your most common archive warning? Least common? Do you consider yourself an adventurous writer?

 No Archive Warnings Apply (772)
Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings (38)
 Major Character Death (10)
 Graphic Depictions Of Violence (1)

It really, really depends on how you define 'adventurous'. Plot-wise, I seem to have a tendency to go off at odd angles to the majority of writers. On this scale, though? I find quantifying just how warning-worthy something is difficult; if I have any doubts, I usually just slap a CNTW on it.

3. How many fics have you written in each relationship category? Is this more accidental, or do you have preferences?

 Gen (591)
 F/M (181)
 M/M (58)
 Multi (14)
 F/F (8)
 Other (1)

My stories are usually far more about ideas than pairing, unless the pairing is the point of the story; hence the high volume of gen. As for the rest? It really, really depends on the fandom. (I suspect a lot of those F/M's are old Buffy crossover pairings; I had a lot of fun making her the little black fandom dress there for awhile.)

4. What are your top 4 fandoms by numbers? Are you still active in any of them, and do you tend to migrate a lot?

 Buffy the Vampire Slayer (297)
 Stargate SG-1 (118)
 Angel: the Series (102)
 Firefly (71)

I started writing in 2002; and those four fandoms are all ones that date back to my faves from those first few years. I wouldn't call myself particularly 'active' in any of them compared to back then - I am pretty migratory and multi-fandom these days - but I do still revisit them semi-frequently. Most recent post dates for them on AO3, for reference:

 B:tVS - 01 Oct 2017
 SG-1 - 29 Nov 2016
 A:tS - 22 Aug 2017
 Firefly - 31 Dec 2016

5. What are your top character tags? Does this match how you feel about the characters, or are you puzzled?

 Buffy Summers (206)
 Daniel Jackson (51)
 Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (38)
 Dawn Summers (37)
 Malcolm Reynolds (35)
 Illyria (AtS) (31)
 Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden (23)
 Willow Rosenberg (22)
 Sam Carter (17)
 River Tam (16)

No surprises there, especially considering that with the exception of Harry, the list pretty much corresponds with the top four fandoms. :)

6. What are your top 2 most used additional tags, and your bottom 2? What would happen if you combined all 4 of these into a fic?

A lot of my tags are added for my own organization purposes, so this question doesn't actually work for me:

 Crossover (489)
 Wordcount: 1.000-5.000 (446)
 Gift Fic (237)
 Wordcount: 500-1.000 (154)
 Challenge Response (132)
 Wordcount: 100-500 (123)
 Character(s) of Color (92)
 Post-Canon (80)
 Crossover Pairings (61)
 Award Nominees (21)

7. How many WIPs do you have currently running on AO3? Any you don’t plan on finishing?

Four, according to the tag.

They will all get finished, eventually. It's just a slow process. These days, I try not to add new ones, because I do bog down after a point; I've decided that's what Big Bang challenges are for.
