3,000 words this chapter. *pushing up sleeves* I'm not sure how the next month's going to go - whether I'll participate much in twistedshorts - but with any luck the last parts of this will be out by the time I go on vacation September 10!

I have some good story kernels. The problem is time and energy to write them. I've been a little low on that this year, and the lion's share has gone to trying to get NLB off my back so far. But however much I can get to, I'll post. :)

I feel you on the energy to write. I'm just starting to want to write again after all my RL drama and it feels fabulous.

Write what you can or not at all, but you know I'll devour pretty much anything you write. :)

Thanks. :) I get one major vacation a year, and starting in 2012 I've saved my tax return and every other scrap I can get all year, so I can make the best of it. This year, my BFF and I are flying to Pittsburgh and taking a week-and-a-half drive around the area, to end in a several-night stay in DC. Seven more states to check off my list!

Lucky you, to go to DC. I've never been there, and in '87 drove to Key West from CA, but didn't have the time to swing north. Youngest is returning from DC late August; he's enjoyed the Smithsonian, naturally, and also the National Zoo after his work hours. I'll ask if there's any lesser known attractions that he recommends!

Ooo, yes; do let me know. We'll be mostly limited to what we can reach by metro when we get there, but since our hotel will only be a couple of blocks off the National Mall, we planned for the major ones to all be within reach on foot. :)
