What is the Wishlist?

The Wishlist is a multi-fandom Christmas fanfiction fest. It started very small and simple several years ago: the premise was simply to write twenty-four ficlets in response to twenty-four prompts, posted between 1 Dec and 24 Dec. Fandom gifts, if you will. Since then it's grown and changed a bit.

I have signed up to be a writer. If you want to give me a prompt, please leave a comment on this entry; and if you want to see what I wrote for it in past fests, just click the wishlist tag.

Rules

• I accept the first 24 prompts I am given, regardless of who you are or if I know you.
  
  (POST CLOSED!)



• You give me characters/pairing, a fandom and a prompt. (Please don't skip the prompt part).



• If I'm not offering the fandom you're requesting, I reserve the right to refuse the prompt.
  
  The regular offerings list is: Buffy/Angel-verse (no comics); Stargate SG-1; Firefly/Serenity; Star Trek XI or TOS; The Marvel Cinematic Universe (Avengers, Guardians, etc.); Eureka; the Fast and the Furious series; Leverage; The Dresden Files; Grimm; Falling Skies; The Walking Dead; Person of Interest; Sleepy Hollow; and the Riddick-verse. (You could probably also make a case for things I've watched, read, or written for lately that didn't make the 'very familiar fandoms' list; check my left-margin bookmarks for that.)
  
  
• If I find your prompt in any way offensive, I will disregard it, too. Fair warning.



• Your prompts can be for a crossover or not - either is fine - and should be in line with what I usually write. (That's a loose guideline, I know, but basically don't be deliberately ornery, okay? I don't have the energy for it.) It can be a quote, an idea, a specific situation, but the more you give me, the more I have to work with. Throwing Character X/Character Y, 'whatever' at me is going to get you 'whatever'.



• If you don't have an LJ account, you can give your DW/IJ/TtH/AO3/whatever name in an anonymous comment, but do make sure to sign it. If you do not sign with a name I will not use your prompt.



• I answer the prompts in the order I like best and post them, one a day, starting 1st, Dec 2014. (At least, that's the goal. I may not hit it, especially this last year considering certain RL events, but whatever I don't make, I'll finish before the next December 1 for sure; I always have).

I'll try to leave this on lj too, to make sure you get it; couldn't figure out how to send PMs on AO3.

Normally I'm all for continuations. But the problem with your particular request is that (1) the original requester specifically said not to use that character; and (2) the way AO3 links gifts to their recipients, it's always going to show up in their gift box, and if I continue it they'll always be able to see that too. Even if I make a new post and point back in any way to "this is a continuation of", it'll be easy enough for them to tell. And that's really rude gifting etiquette. Some might not care, but it would bug me forever.

Riddick-verse: in Pitch Black *haven't seen any others* Riddick was captured by Johns, but how? Would enjoy any delving into the actual circumstances. Humor is always appreciated!

(Nothing hugely spoilery I don't think, except some character names/history will probably come up for texture; unless you mind, I'll probably claim it later as backstory for the Riddick series I was working on.)

Whew; I have a moment to spare between adventures today, and time to do a prompt. Given that I asked for sequels last year, I think I'll go a different direction this time out. So:

Your choice of either:

(a) Nick Fury passes through Sleepy Hollow while living off the grid post-Winter Soldier, and gets caught in the crossfire of an encounter between Ichabod Crane and the Horseman. Everybody walks away, but not without having their eyes opened.

(b) Castle/MCU; Kate Beckett and Pepper Potts went to school together back in the day, which comes in handy when Alexis Castle decides she wants to work for Stark Industries. How does Alexis' dad react, and how many Avengers does Alexis meet on her first day?

Heh. I'm still trying to figure out which of your sequel requests to write; I wanted to do the Avengers/SA one, but Pepper isn't even present for the events of the attack, so I can't do it as a direct continuation, but on the other hand Castle is still making me crazy given the events of canon, so. :) But I will get to it before the month is up, I swear.

Hmmm. Both of those prompts would be interesting! I'm leaning toward the Fury one right now (again given my current feelings about Castle) but we'll see. That's 9/24.

Always loved your take on him. Would be interested to see him with Daniel Jackson from SG1 again, but I also like how you paired him with Natasha Romanoff. And also the Person of Interests crossover. Cant choose T_T. Actually, I would really love the continuation of my prior two prompts, but on a wildly different tangent Professor Snape coming across the Dresden Files school of potion making would be interesting :)

Oh yay! I didn't miss out on a chance to join! I'd love a continuation of the Protectors of Man Leverage/Mummy crossover. Maybe Rick & Evie's daughter and family show up? Or Eliot has to go work with Faiza and sparks fly (literal or metaphorical)?

If neither of those is appealing, I loved "Small Town, Smaller World" where the Leverage crew popped up in Eureka. What about a future fic where Carter either runs into Nate & Sophie after their marriage, or has to help (or attempt to hinder) Parker, Eliot & Hardison in a job?

I had had a thought sometime in September of something I should prompt you with for this but for the life of me I can not remember it. So I'll ask for more Temporalally Displaced Americans- Sleepy Hollow/ MCU crossover with Ichabod Crane and Steve Rogers. Maybe Crane finally putting things together and reacting to Steve being Captain America and going "I was once called you. I do not see the confusion." (Frank Irving called Crane "Captain America" sarcastically towards the end of the Pilot).

Prompt: So I went to see Rocky Horror Picture Show on Halloween, and could not unsee Rocky as Bettany!JARVIS. Um. Something with Tony and JARVIS, and somewhat related to RHPS if you're familiar with it? Even if not a crossover, but perhaps with some of the same themes (mad science, creating a body for JARVIS, watching the movie with the Avengers and snarking at it, idk).

If you still have spots left, can I request a Dresden Files crossover featuring my favourite mob boss, Gentlemen John Marcone?

I'd love to see him go head-to-head with my second favourite mob boss, Elias, from Person of Interest. I always wonder which of them would outsmart the other, or if (an even scarier possibility) they'd actually get along. They are, after all, cut from the same "I do bad things to keep my city safe from even worse bad things" dark grey morality. And then there's that crack Elias made in the last week's POI about not wanting New York to end up like Chicago. ::snerk::

LOL. I've had much the same thought as Elias' plotline has developed, the Reese vs. Elias dynamic as compared to the Dresden vs. Marcone dynamic. There'd be a lot of calculation going on there once they figured out they couldn't just dismiss and/or acquire the other without incurring unacceptable risk. :)
