The Hard Rock in Biloxi MS is a casino, not just a café/shop; it has an appropriately super-sized sign. (July, 2008)

maevebran and I got my mom out of the house a few weeks ago and went out to the beaches at Lincoln City and Yaquina Head; it was a gorgeous day. The lighthouse there is still in operation; it's Oregon's tallest. (May, 2014)

Great shot of the lighthouse! Next time I'm down the Oregon coast, I need to actually stop and check out the lighthouses. I'm usually more interested in the rock formations, landscapes and ocean, but that is just too cool.

And wonderful shot of the redwoods! Definitely my favorite area of the planet. :)

Our main goal that day was actually to go to Cobble Beach, which was out on Yaquina Head, but the light house is out there too, so we walked all around it and read the informative plaques. :) It's one of those state park areas, so there's a $7 entry fee; not sure if that's true for any of the other lighthouses on the Oregon coast.
