30 Day Photo Meme: Day 20

Day 20 - a photo taken within half a mile of your home


One of the back entrances to the city park is down the hill from where I live now. Bro and I went geocaching there just after a major windstorm; this was taken at the entrance to the Japanese Gardens. (January 2, 2009)


This was snapped from our front driveway: a flock of wild turkeys passing through the area. They're a major nuisance; as much a hazard to our feet if we're walking barefoot as to our cars, and very noisy. (January 9, 2013)


And a pic taken in the front yard, during this year's "major" snowstorm. (February 7, 2014)

I agree, that last photo is worthy of printing and framing! I enjoyed the other two as well and agree that large flocks of wild fowl are definitely a problem, but I'd much rather we had them than not. Up in this area, it's Canada Geese instead of wild turkeys and I wouldn't dare go barefoot outside. :-p Eeughhh!

One thing going through all of these pics for this meme has reminded me of, is how many gorgeous landscape shots (meaning ones with no people) I have. When it's all done, I'm probably going to gather half a dozen of the best and make an art wall at home.

By the way, if you can swing it while you're up in this area, you'll definitely want to drive up to Hurricane Ridge while you're up around Port Angeles. Google Hurricane Ridge and look at the photos to see why. *g*

I'll add it to my "skeleton sheet" of activities that I'm using to flesh out the "daily schedule" of the trip - I've got through Banff so far. :)
