Not to get all photo-nerdy, here; but I have a philosophical objection to today's theme. I'm one of those people who clicks like crazy and feels blessed to have one really excellent pic of any given scene; but that doesn't mean I'm not proud of the rest. They're just... not quite perfect? But there's nothing to be ashamed of about them, in particular. So just dug up one particularly interesting "not perfect" shot, and decided to call that enough for the day.

Day 13 - a photo that you're not proud of

Meme Day 13 - Bits and Pieces

I call this one "Bits and Pieces". I took it at maevebran's wedding. I had her new husband and his friend all framed, aimed, and clicked ... and right at that moment, pieces of three other people leaned into my shot. One of them on purpose, even; as is pretty easy to tell. It makes me snort every time I look at it. (August, 1997; scanned)

Maybe it's like the authorial temptation: you come up and publish a fic, but those little bits and pieces that didn't make the cut aren't all that bad, so they get thrown into a dragon's hoard, never bad enough to get discarded. And so the file/hoard grows and grows ...

I love that picture because of all the pieces. I just noticed that you got my Paternal Grandpa in that photo too.

LOL! I can sympathize with the timing issue in photography. That is still a great shot, though, and it would be fun to caption the various people in it if you know them enough to put something in character.
