I've never exactly experienced rural living myself, either ... but I come from rural Southern roots on my mom's side, and I spent a lot of time camping with my family as a child. I suppose that's where I acquired my abiding love for wide open spaces and gorgeous natural vistas. :)

Day 11 - a photo representing country living

The last time I went fishing with my father: just the two of us at a pond on an old decommissioned army base, out at dawn on this date six years ago, fueled by breakfast burritos and coffee. (May 24, 2008)

One of my aunts finally seized her dream a couple years ago, and bought a campground in the Ozarks with her husband. The tunnel of trees effect on the route down to the camping areas along the river really caught my eye when [livejournal.com profile] maevebran and I visited. (October 15, 2013)

And: the spooky abandoned house down the road from my great-granddad's place in Louisiana, which happens to sit in a very rural pocket surrounded by national forest land. I was terrified by ghost stories about this house more than once during cousins' reunions as a small child. (October 20, 2013)

The abandoned spooky house is appropriately abandoned and spooky looking. Especially with that burst of sunlight.
