30 Day Photo Meme: Day 10

Pretty much the only time I ever actually experienced urban living was a few years right after college; and I think it's debatable just how "urban" Salem, Oregon actually is. *snicker*. Entertaining places to visit and photograph, though.

Day 10 - a photo representing urban living


One famous landmark I DID hit with my brother was the Field Museum; thus, we spent one long afternoon in Chicago on our crosscountry sprint. I had never seen so many tall buildings in one place before. (July 2, 2009)


And of COURSE maevebran and I had to detour by twisty Lombard Street while we were in San Francisco! I'd seen too many old car-related movies with my dad that referenced it. (September 26, 2012)

The jazz wedding looks like fun, even if you don't know the people. What exactly was it, a parade, like the funerals in jazz?

I assume so? We heard the jazz music coming before we saw the people; and then we saw the bridal party coming down the street, followed by friends and family. This was the second one that we saw while we were there; the other one was the previous night IIRC, passing by Café du Monde while we were there having coffee and beignets. Neat to watch.

My cousin just had her wedding in New Orleans. I didn't get to go, but apparently there was a 7-9 piece jazz band and some other bands/musicians there for the reception.
