30 Day Photo Meme: Day 06
May. 19th, 2014 04:28 pmFor this one, I opened up my folders full of digital images and basically scrolled through the thumbnails without really focusing on content, until ones full of a particular color leaped out at me. I'm pleased with the results, though!
Day 06 - a photo representing a color that you like

Green: and not just any green, but the deep, rich, living greens of a healthy garden in mid-summer. Shot in my parents' backyard (tidied and trimmed before a family reunion) on August 4, 2013.

Blue: an accidentally coordinated sartorial display by my parents, nicely contrasting against the wood tones in the background, in the last really good shot I have of them together. Captured September 19, 2013.

And Brick Red: the red of the rock formations in one of the most beautiful parks I've ever visited, the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Photographed October 11, 2013.

Date: 2014-05-20 12:12 am (UTC)Your parents are as adorable as your brother and SIL. :) I can also definitely see your resemblance to both of them.
Cool! If I can ever make it to Colorado Springs, I will definitely be checking out the Garden of the Gods! It looks a lot like the Bryce and Zion canyon areas, which are also truly gorgeous.
Thank you again for sharing this 30 Days of Photos, it really is a nifty meme and you're quite a good photographer!
On a different note, I must check my mail at just the right time because your updates are usually right up at the top of my in-box! Then again, it does help that there are some days when I spend most of my time on the computer and check my email at least half a dozen times. :-p

Date: 2014-05-20 11:56 pm (UTC)I wasn't sure what to expect when I was just googling around looking for destination options, but the Garden of the Gods was as gorgeous as advertised, and wonder of wonders, it's a city park, not state or federal.
I'm glad you're enjoying the pictures! I'm having fun sorting through the last few years' worth to fill the meme spots, and it's making me smile. The world is full of things I want to remember better than my imperfect memory can record them, and I'm told I've always had an eye for framing things in interesting ways. :)
