Hah. Next chapter up! Only took me a couple of weeks, but still making progress on this ridic old fic. And I've solidified the POV characters and major action for chapters 22-32, plus epilogue. \0/ 3000 words this chapter.

Phew; I'm glad it worked for you!

Starting this up again, I've had to keep reminding myself that nothing after "Normal Again" happened the way it did in canon, and that a lot of other stuff has happened since, which makes characterization a little tricky.

I was always a little disappointed with where canon went with Spike, since it felt like Whedon went out of his way to prove that despite all the buildup showing Spike could be good without a soul, actually, no, he couldn't, that would tarnish the whole premise of Angel, so let's make him do something actually irredeemably awful and then send him off to Africa to make it better.... *sigh* So when I started this series, I was trying to get around that, a bit.

No disagreement there. I felt he was a far more interesting character as a conflicted baddie.

I generally feel like pretending that nothing past the end of S5 existed. IMHO the whole Andrew arc was where the show jumped the shark. He affected me like sandpaper. :-)

I'm told that the original plan was for Xander to turn out to be Glory's alter ego and for the series to end with Buffy's death. Although admittedly we would have missed out on 'Once More With Feeling'....
