First of all, thank you for participating in not_primetime! I look forward to reading my gift.

In general, I prefer something mainly focused on character interaction and/or plot, rather than PWP. But for theme: romance, humor, scifi, action, domestic moments, whatever you enjoy writing? I'll probably enjoy reading. Though I do have a few squicks, which I'd prefer you avoid: incest, partner betrayal, character humiliation, and noncanon main character death or non-consensual sex.

I am an extremely eclectic writer, though, so don't worry too much about what types of things I've written or received before; I am very open to receiving almost any flavor of fic.

• Fandom 1: ANGEL: THE SERIES
  Characters: Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, Lilah Morgan, Lindsey McDonald
  
  "Perpetuity clause! I'd be very interested in seeing something with all three of these characters working together. Whether that's in Season 5, with Lilah there in place of Eve, or set after "Not Fade Away" when all of their clauses have been activated, or any other scenario you can come up with; I just want to see them working together, all snark and not quite trusting each other but definitely not trusting W&H despite their contracts. Relationships or lack thereof up to you. (Please ignore the comics; I haven't read them.)"
  
  I liked how Lilah and Wes' relationship had evolved, by the time she died; meeting in the gray space between their respective hat colors, a real connection despite everything. And Lindsey got a raw deal, in the end; I liked his snark and his grit and the fact he was capable of love, too; and that-- whether his goals were noble or not-- he wasn't so much on the side of Evil. I think they'd make a very hot, very bickery team, and I can see them taking on W&H from the inside on their own terms. But feel free to go with whatever inspires you.



• Fandom 2: THE DRESDEN FILES - JIM BUTCHER
  Characters: Ivy, Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden
  
  "I'm just a sucker for these two interacting; the girl with all the knowledge in the world, and the wizard who gave her the one thing she didn't have: her own name. You can place it at any point in canon; I've read up through Ghost Story (and in fact an Ivy bit from that or afterward would be awesome, if you're read up). Or AU if you like; you can include any other characters or relationships you choose."
  
  I don't think I can add much to this one; I love Ivy, and I love Harry, and any circumstance you want to put them in, whether just playing with Mister and Mouse or in a business-related meeting or a snip from her POV out of canon or someone else watching them, I'll enjoy it. (Er, except I prefer if their relationship stays gen.)



• Fandom 3: THE AVENGERS (2012)
  Characters: Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Pepper Potts
  
  "Life in Stark Tower after the movie! Details are up to you, and you can include any other characters you like (for example if you want to AU a certain spoiler - or involve the rest of the team); but I mainly want to see awesome!Pepper and Bruce and Tony having mad science fun together."
  
  I love all the Avengers characters, but I like Tony best when he's being the scientist/engineer, and I was really taken by the way he and Bruce bonded in the movie. I also loved how clear it was that the reason Tony's more or less stable now? Is down to Pepper being his anchor. You can go with canon 'ships or make them more flexible here - as long as there's no painful breakup or betrayal involved, I'm down with it.



• Fandom 4: ONCE UPON A TIME
  Characters: Emma Swan, Rumpelstiltskin | Mr. Gold
  
  "Just these two interacting. I admit, I kind of like the idea of them as a pairing - the man who knows everything and the woman with all the power. But if you can't 'ship them, something with them teaming up somehow. AU or within canon; it's up to you when to set it. But I'd prefer if it ends on a positive note."
  
  In general - I want to see this pair on a more equal and honest footing than we got for most of the season, and whether that's AU or post-finale, and whether it's romantic or otherwise, is up to you. Renegotiating places post-finale, or turning the tables during any of those mid-season instances when he manipulated her toward breaking the curse, or whatever you have in mind, I'm sure I'll enjoy. (And let me just clarify, if you choose to try the romance angle: I don't wish any ill on Belle, I liked her; but Rumplestiltskin has never treated her as an equal.)

I hope I've given you some things to be thoughtful about, rather than boxing you in. Just have fun writing whatever you're writing, and I'll love whatever you give me. Thank you again!

Gold and Emma as a pairing I'd definitely read, no matter that his heart is canonically taken.

I did like Belle in the episode she was in? But she was practically 'fridged, the way she was completely forgotten about after that. We've only barely had any other references, and for a show that pretends to be so hung up on 'true love' as the cure for everything, we've spent an awful lot of time on the aaaaaaangst of Snow and Charming, the Queen's mental break, and Emma's trip down De Nile instead.

I think it would be interesting to explore something a little more realistic with Gold and Emma.

... Or, you know, alternatively an AU where August and Emma were placed in the same home as a (few years older, obvs.) Baelfire, and they all grew up much more functionally, and came to Storybook PREPARED. But I wasn't about to burden someone with that request. I think that may be my summer project .......

...can I ask for a clarification? When you say "partner betrayal," does that refer to romantic/sexual betrayal specifically, or any kind of betrayal between partners?

to take a completely random example (Firefly) that just happens to be something I'm familiar with, but that you haven't asked for: let's say Mal finds out that Inara, in the past, helped the Alliance in ways that resulted in the deaths of lots of Browncoats, perhaps people he knew personally. He would obviously see that as a sort of betrayal, and it would hurt their romantic/working relationship, but it's not itself a romantic betrayal. Would that set off your squick? If so, even slightly, please do let me know!

Hmmm. I think I meant more, "betrayal of a partner (defined in an emotionally significant context; romantic, sexual, or otherwise) that occurs present-time in the story." Stuff that's long past might have fallout, but isn't the kind of betrayal I'm thinking of, in that person A (Inara in this example) did not knowingly set out to betray person B in specific (Mal in this example) because there was not an emotionally significant bond between them at the time; and s/he would not do the same in the present-time of the story.

Does that make sense to you? Basically, the thing I have a problem with is deliberate betrayal of trust, not clashing backstories causing problems, which can be good story-fodder.
