Celebrity Crushes Meme: Estrogen Edition
Apr. 29th, 2011 03:45 pmI didn't do one of these last time I ran this meme, did I? But then, I don't much go for "girly girls".
1. List your top 10 celebrity crushes.
2. Put all of them IN ORDER of your lust for them. (1-10, 1 being favorite)
3. Say which movie/show/thing it was that hooked you and when that was.
4. Supply photos for said people.
1. Angelina Jolie - Tomb Raider
Cliché, I know. But seriously. *points* She's been doing the kick-ass woman thing for ages; I was especially fond in recent years of her turns as Mrs. Smith and Evelyn Salt.

2. Gina Torres - Firefly
I remember her most from her role on Firefly, and her creepy stint as Jasmine on Angel, but she's guest starred all over the place, and has a knack for playing gorgeous characters with a strong presence.

3. Milla Jovovich - Fifth Element
She's been in some really awful movies over the years - the Resident Evils probably rank pretty high on that list - but she's had my attention since Fifth Element, especially when she's kicking ass and taking names.

4. Amanda Tapping - Stargate SG-1
I didn't always like Sam Carter on SG-1 (mostly during the romantic subplots, which short-changed the character) but she was strong and allowed to be smart without having to go the "let's put glasses on her to pretend she's not as pretty" route. And she continues to be strong and smart and imperfect and awesome on Sanctuary as Helen Magnus.

5. Anna Torv - Fringe
I've never seen any of her roles but Fringe; and I didn't even like her character on Fringe at the beginning. But she's really, really grown on me. Both Olivia Dunhams are strong, smart, and reserved, but deeply feeling as well. I like the restrained acting and costuming in the show; she's quite pretty without dressing it up much at all.

6. Sarah Michelle Gellar - Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I actually saw her in I Know What You Did Last Summer before I watched any Buffy, but it was as Buffy that she made an impression. (Do I need to detail why? I think my type is pretty obvious by now.) Though she got a little skinny for my taste during the last couple seasons of the show.

7. Sandra Bullock - Speed
I generally like my female characters tougher, but there's something really appealing to me about many of Sandra Bullock's roles; the genuineness of them, I suppose? I've been following her since she played Lenina Huxley in Demolition Man; but Speed, While You Were Sleeping, Miss Congeniality, and The Lake House are my favorites of hers.

8. Michelle Rodriguez - Resident Evil
One of the go-to "tough girls" in Hollywood right now; I was pleasantly surprised to see her turn up in Battle of Los Angeles recently. But I first noticed her in Resident Evil, with Milla Jovovich; and of course as Letty Ortiz in the Fast and the Furious series.

9. Rachel Weisz - The Mummy
I think I actually saw her first in Chain Reaction? But I remember her mostly as Evy, especially in the second Mummy movie, and as Angela Dodson in Constantine, and from her role in Enemy at the Gates.

10. Zoe Saldana - Pirates of the Caribbean
She was the only real pirate chick in the first movie; I was disappointed Anamaria never returned in the sequels. She was also great in The Losers, of course, and as Uhura in the new Star Trek. (I've still never seen Avatar, and won't.)
