Ooh, yes. He's my favorite character in the prequel series for mostly that reason; and Luke in the original.

... Though ymmv on the Luke thing; a lot of my friends boggle that I prefer him over Han, but I saw RotJ before either of the others and sort of imprinted on Jedi Luke rather than Farmboy Luke. =)

Just about all of them, with the possible exception of Mal Reynolds, who had most of the self-sacrificing beat out of him at the Battle of Serenity Valley.

I agree with you about the irony of Harry stating that, since all it that fits him to a tee, no matter how much he denies it.

Oh, yes. Mal was built in the mold; he's a little damaged when we meet him in the series, but mostly puts himself back together over the course of the movie, I think. =)

This must be my third time through the books, but I'm enjoying them even more this time; mostly, I think, because I'm not reading for "what happens next?" or researching for a Yuletide story, I'm sitting back and taking in a bigger perspective over the events of the series, and am even more impressed with Butcher now than I was before. I hope he does run this series into the twenties of books, he's got a strong enough cast and complex enough world to carry it that far.

I think "loony" is more a descriptive term applied to the results of the other four adjectives rather than a requirement for additional crazy, actually; because really, that's enough crazy right there. =)

I don't know the others, but Miles, yeah. I was thinking of Wesley (Angel-edition); Daniel Jackson, at times; John McClane; Will Turner to a degree... Oooh, and bookverse Faramir. ♥♥♥

What, you haven't read "The Curse of Chalion"?

Not yet. That's more of Bujold's stuff, right? I want to read my way through the Vorkosiverse before I branch out, but those books are really hard to find in used book stores, and the older ones aren't in new book stores either. I might just end up Amazon-ing them at some point so I can get on with it. =)
