Jan. 3rd, 2018 11:17 pmView Tracking Year Eleven, here we go!
[See 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017 for past lists.]
If I round all TV episodes (whether live or DVD) up to the nearest half-hour mark and all movies to two hours total, then add in repeat viewings, in 2017 I watched 590 total hours of on-screen entertainment, an average of 1.62 hours/day.
That's a significant drop from the last couple of years' average of 704.5 hours in 2016 (1.93 hours/day) and 699 hours in 2015 (1.91 hours/day). The move, other RL distractions, less money for the theater, and less must-see-TV all contributed to the decline.
[In previous years, I watched 756.5 hours in 2014 (2.07 hours/day), 842.5 hours in 2013 (2.31 hours/day), 920 hours in 2012 (2.52 hrs/day), 785 hours in 2011, 777 in 2010, 677 in 2009, and 653 in 2008.]
