jedibuttercup: Harry Potter (harry potter)
*bursting into tears*

It's done. It's done! 3,900 words representing the next (but not, alas, the last) chapter of [livejournal.com profile] backagainharry. You have no idea how many times I've rewritten this segment; I knew how it had to start, and how it had to end, but trying to keep the character voices in character--!!! (I'm quite out of love with Remus Lupin now).

I swore off LiveJournal until I got it done, but now it is, nearly a month after I promised it, so--

Anyone want to read it over for me, give critical commentary? I fear I've lost all perspective after this much editing. (Just drop me a comment, and I'll send you the sekrit link).

Thank you. Much love and apologies!

I've actually read nine "books" in the last month, but as four of them fall under the "graphic novel" header I'm reporting them in this post and the other books in the next.

(I was hesitant to even include the graphic novels in my count, but as a friend pointed out, the collected volumes do have more than a handful of pages, require a chunk of time to read, carry an ISBN, and tell a story, so how is that any different from reporting any other short book?)

Books # 57-60 )

Next book: See following entry.

Five books in this batch: one near-future scifi, one epic fantasy, one motivational non-fiction book, and two Victorian-era historical fantasy.

Books # 61-65 )

Next book: Reserved for the Cat, by Mercedes Lackey. It's Book 5 of the Elemental Masters, and the question is-- will it be as good as books 1 and 3, or as disappointing as 2 and 4? Time will tell.
