Ow, my brain is full...
Jul. 28th, 2008 08:48 amOK. So, I finished blitzing my brain with Eureka Season 2 this weekend. Nice of SciFi to leave half the season up on their website, no internet backflips or debit cards required. They'd better keep the habit up as Season 3 progresses, because I'm seriously addicted now, and I don't get cable.
I think Jack Carter has turned into one of my favorite TV characters, ever. He's just so darned likeable. And while the science in his super-scientist-inhabited town is often a wee bit fuzzy-- season 2 included actual alchemy and multiple references to the Akashic Field, for example-- the entire cast of characters is twenty kinds of awesome. I don't even mind the romantic triangle, and those usually drive me halfway up the wall; maybe it's because there are truly three sides to this one. The boys might profess to hate each other, but they're smirking half the time when they argue, and they're capable of dropping the rivalry and working together successfully with or without Allison when serious problems need solving. It will take something away from the show if she ever settles on either one of them.
Crossing this show with SG-1 or SGA or WarGames or The Prestige or any of a dozen other shows or movies will be as easy as pie, if I ever have the time to write in the fandom. I'm still stuck on Oz in SGA. He just won't open his mouth! I'm thinking scrap the current story and start over, at this point.
