jedibuttercup: Notebook and Pen (writing)

I spent a good chunk of time this weekend listing out all the fandoms I've written fic in, and totting up how many words I'd written in each of them, whether as "pure" fic or as part of a crossover. I'd never done it by fandom that way before, and the results were kind of enlightening.

I present, random statistics about my fic writing habits:
  • I have written in 52 fandoms, in all

  • I have written crossover stories in 51 of those 52 fandoms

  • I have written only crossover stories in 43 of those 52 fandoms

  • I have written 1,000 total words or less in 27 of those 52 fandoms

  • I have written 2,500 total words or more in 17 of those 52 fandoms
The top three, of course, are obvious: the Buffyverse, the Stargateverse, and the Fireflyverse. Pitch Black and The Mummy trot right on their heels, however, and the other five 5,000+ word fandoms are DOOM, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Boondock Saints, and CSI, in that order. Kind of an eclectic list.

I'll have to put up the full table on a website somewhere soon, so I can point it out to people who complete the [livejournal.com profile] tthdrabbles competition and say, "Anything above the X word mark? Golden, you can request just about anything and I'll hammer it right out. Anything below the X word mark, or not on the list? Will require research on my part; you might be waiting awhile. In the middle? Depends on the request, let's negotiate."

As opposed to me...

I mean...Oh noes!! My secret royalty complex is out! :P

Hey, this all began so innocently. I go by Vesica far and wide and some goof had already claimed it on here (and left the journal to rot). So...I needed an add on. Viscountess was too much to spell. :P

This fascinated me enough to check out mine!

1. I've written in 93 fandoms
2. 31 fandoms out of 93 had crossovers
3. 17 fandoms were ONLY crossovers
4. Total of approx 280 stories.

I can't work out the wordcount exactly as it is too much but approximately...

5. 26 were <1000 words (smallest 55 words)
6. 27 were >15,000 words
7. Largest series (23 stories) total word count of 310,000 though another series racked up 173,000 in 3 stories!
8. Top three fandoms: Magnificent Seven, Stargate Atlantis, X-Fies

I didn't realize I'd been so productive!

I am very measly in comparison:

I have written stories in 24 fandoms.
I have written crossover stories in 23 of those 24 fandoms.
I have written only crossover stories in 16 fandoms.
I have written a total of 81 stories. (No, I'm not going to try the wordcount thing)

I have written poems in 16 fandoms.
I have written only poems in 8 fandoms.

I have written filks in 4 fandoms. (BSG, B5, B7, DW)
I have written only filks in 1 fandom (BSG).
