*boggles* Anyone out there a fan of both Stargate SG-1 and the recent Mummy movies with Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weicz, and Oded Fehr?
TELL me this list of facts doesn't give you ideas.
From "Stargate" (1994)
8000 BC - (approx) The Goa'uld Ra arrives and enslaves Earth. (By series canon, many other Goa'uld followed, submitting to Ra's rule but also mucking about with humans-- presumably including Anubis).
From "The Mummy Returns" (2001)
3067 BC - Scorpion King begins his quest to conquer the known world
3060 BC - Quest fails; driven into the "sacred desert of Ahm Shere"
There, he made a deal with Anubis: "If Anubis would spare his life and let him conquer his enemies, he would give him his soul."
"Anubis gave the Scorpion King control of his army, and like an evil flood they washed away all that lay before him. When his task was done, Anubis forced the Scoropion King to serve him for all time. His army was returned to the sands from whence they came, there to wait, silently, to be awakened again."
From Stargate SG-1, episodes 8.19 & 8.20 "Moebius"
2995 BC - SG-1 arrives in Ancient Egypt, first rebellion is attempted, fails; Goa'uld win
2990 BC - SG-1 alternates arrive in Ancient Egypt, second rebellion succeeds; gate buried
From "The Mummy" (1999)
1290 BC - Death of Seti and Anck-su-namun; mummification of Imhotep
(Roughly the last time anyone set foot in the chamber holding the Scorpion King's bracelet)
Revealed piecemeal in various Stargate SG-1 episodes
1000 AD - (approx) The Goa'uld Anubis is exiled by the other Goa'uld, tricks Oma into teaching him Ascension, and then is sent half-way back to the mortal plane by the Others.
From "The Mummy Returns" (2001)
Description of Rick's tattoo: "with the pyramid, the two kings, the eye..."
(Ardeth says it means he's a protector of man, a warrior for God... a Medjai!)
From "Stargate" (1994)
The image Daniel discovers to be the home-symbol for Abydos, the first world (apparently) that Ra had colonized with his human slaves, has a pyramid in the center, two kneeling guys (one on each side), and a round symbol, like a sun or eye, on top...
... O.o
Wish I had the time to write something tying that all together, but I'm booked solid for awhile. Maybe I'll enter it in this year's finishathon, along with Book's Legacy and Never Look Back. *rubbing forehead* Darn it, Muse, a lighter hand on the clue-bat would be appreciated!
