jedibuttercup: Vin Diesel as Riddick (riddick)
Gen/PG-15 (for language), Pitch Black; 3000 words. Day 10 of Wishlist 2014.

Johns had collared seventeen out of seventeen convicts since embarking on his present career, but not a one of them had had a record like Riddick's.

Tony brightened as he caught sight of Buffy. "Ah, if it isn't my favorite fellow member of the twenty million club! Long time, no see; where've you been? Any more assassination attempts?"

The More We Get Together (The Happier We'll Be)

jedibuttercup: (eliot)
PG-13, B:tVS x Leverage; 1000 words. Title courtesy [livejournal.com profile] sulien. For Day 8 of Wishlist 2014 + [livejournal.com profile] twistedshorts.

Add in some possible demon killing on the side, because this was her, and... yeah. Just what Eliot needed under the tree this year.

Going For a Slay Ride

jedibuttercup: (pryce)
PG-13, Angel x Stargate SG-1; 2300 words. Part 6 of Starting Over. For Day 7 of Wishlist 2014 + [livejournal.com profile] twistedshorts.

"Well, isn't this lovely," Wes muttered, dangling resignedly from a pole in the middle of the village square.

Setting Free

jedibuttercup: Dracula framed by bats (dracula)
PG-13, B:tVS x Dracula Untold; 1600 words. Day 6 of Wishlist 2014; also for [livejournal.com profile] twistedshorts.

It had been years since Buffy had dreamed regularly of her past lives. Most days, she forgot she'd ever been anyone else at all.

In This Life or the Next

jedibuttercup: (tony stark)
PG-13, B:tVS x Iron Man (MCU); 3000 words. Day 5 of Wishlist 2014; also for [livejournal.com profile] twistedshorts.

The discovery that Dawn Summers was maybe not actually a Summers began like so many other dramatic changes in her life: with a disappointment.

Dawn, Insert Last Name Here

(Linked @ [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic and AO3; written for [livejournal.com profile] jilltanith)
jedibuttercup: (tony stark)
PG; Buffy x Avengers, 3000 words. Post Thor 2, continuing the Best Job Share Ever? 'verse. For Day 4.

Buffy probably should have realized, long before the name MjĂžlnir ever left her lips, that comparing the sentient hammer to JARVIS would lead inexorably to hammer-related mayhem.

And To You Your Wassail, Too

(Linked @ [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic and AO3; written for [livejournal.com profile] avamclean)
jedibuttercup: (john reese)
PG-13, Person of Interest/Buffy: the Vampire Slayer; 1800 words. For Day 3 of 2014.

Reese's instincts hadn't been wrong: Buffy Summers was deadly poetry in motion.

Slayer of Interest: Part I

jedibuttercup: David Giuntoli as Nick Burkhardt (nick burkhardt)
PG-13, Dresden Files/Grimm; 3300 words. Post-"White Night"/Season 2 finale. For Day 2 of 2014.

Following Detective Burkhardt as he chased a raving woman through the rooms above the coffee shop, I was reminded of that old PSA about the egg and the frying pan. You know the one: This Is Your Brain On Drugs.

Night of the Living Frustration: Part I

Night of the Living Frustration: Part II

jedibuttercup: (objects in space)
PG-13, Firefly x Riddick 'verse; 1800 words. Mild het. For Day 1 of 2014.

That girl's dangerous, I thought, pricked with unexpected interest. There was something about her; something compelling. Something that called to me, one weapon to another.

There Your Treasure Lies

Now that I've finally finished putting up last year's stories, here's the new list: the assembled (crazy and entertaining) prompts from the Wishlist 2014 post! I'll add in the links as the ficlets are posted.

Last year's now all-linked-up list is here: 2013. Or view 2013's on AO3 as a collection.

(Previous years: 2012 | 2011 | 2010. See the [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic comm for other authors!)

The Prompts, in the Order I Received Them: )
jedibuttercup: (dresden)
PG-13, Dresden Files x B:tVS; 2000 words. Set in the Handle With Care 'verse. For Day 24 of 2013.

I was more than an hour late for our arranged meeting at McAnally's. Fortunately, Buffy was amused.

Your Back to Mine

(Linked @ [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic and AO3; written for [livejournal.com profile] draconin)
jedibuttercup: (ad astra)
PG-13/gen, DF x ST 2009; 2000 words. Sequel to The Only Logical Conclusion. For Day 22 of 2013.

"But didn't they tell you?" I said in an ostentatious tone. "The first rule of time travel is that you don't talk about the time travel."

Per Aspera Ad Futurum

(Linked @ [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic and AO3; written for [livejournal.com profile] jilltanith)
jedibuttercup: Jim Caviezel as John Reese (serious reese)
PG-13/gen, Person of Interest x Riddick fusion; 1600 words. For Day 21 of 2013.

This would be an opponent to take down with a sniper rifle, from a distance; John wasn't keen on bleeding out before he could set up that shot.

Playing For Blood

(Linked @ [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic and AO3; written for [livejournal.com profile] xlade)
jedibuttercup: (rick castle)
PG-13/gen, Castle x Percy Jackson; 2500 words. For Day 20 of 2013. 3rd in a series.

Alexis is too old to need another mother, but Kate's actually worked at building a relationship with Alexis separate from the one with her dad. And she's kept secrets for Alexis before. "It's sort of a long story...."

Not Flesh and Blood, But the Heart

(Linked @ [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic and AO3; written for [livejournal.com profile] graycardinal)
jedibuttercup: (jaeger)
R/Mature, Pacific Rim/Riddickverse; 2000 words. For Day 19 of 2013.

In normal times, evil would be fought by good. But in times like these, well. It should be fought by another kind of evil.

it all has to end sometime

What is the Wishlist?

The Wishlist is a multi-fandom Christmas fanfiction fest. It started very small and simple several years ago: the premise was simply to write twenty-four ficlets in response to twenty-four prompts, posted between 1 Dec and 24 Dec. Fandom gifts, if you will. Since then it's grown and changed a bit.

The community and the rules in detail can be found here.

I have signed up to be a writer. If you want to give me a prompt, please leave a comment on this entry; and if you want to see what I wrote for it in past fests, just click the wishlist tag.

Rules

  • I accept the first 24 prompts I am given, regardless of who you are or if I know you.

    (POST CLOSED!)

  • You give me characters/pairing, a fandom and a prompt. (Please don't skip the prompt part).

  • If I'm not offering the fandom you're requesting, I reserve the right to refuse the prompt.

The regular offerings list is: Buffy/Angel-verse (no comics); Stargate SG-1; Firefly/Serenity; Star Trek XI or TOS; The Marvel Cinematic Universe (Avengers, Guardians, etc.); Eureka; the Fast and the Furious series; Leverage; The Dresden Files; Grimm; Falling Skies; The Walking Dead; Person of Interest; Sleepy Hollow; and the Riddick-verse. (You could probably also make a case for things I've watched, read, or written for lately that didn't make the 'very familiar fandoms' list; check my left-margin bookmarks for that.)

  • If I find your prompt in any way offensive, I will disregard it, too. Fair warning.

  • Your prompts can be for a crossover or not - either is fine - and should be in line with what I usually write. (That's a loose guideline, I know, but basically don't be deliberately ornery, okay? I don't have the energy for it.) It can be a quote, an idea, a specific situation, but the more you give me, the more I have to work with. Throwing Character X/Character Y, 'whatever' at me is going to get you 'whatever'.

  • If you don't have an LJ account, you can give your DW/IJ/TtH/AO3/whatever name in an anonymous comment, but do make sure to sign it. If you do not sign with a name I will not use your prompt.

  • I answer the prompts in the order I like best and post them, one a day, starting 1st, Dec 2014. (At least, that's the goal. I may not hit it, especially this last year considering certain RL events, but whatever I don't make, I'll finish before the next December 1 for sure; I always have).

And that's it! Prompt away: the 24 Days of Ficcish Christmas begin only a month away!
jedibuttercup: Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury (fury)
PG-13, The Avengers (MCU), pre-Agents of SHIELD; 1000 words. For Day 18 of 2013.

Long before a certain hammer had fallen to Earth in New Mexico, Nick had believed Phil would be the Director SHIELD would need when the age of heroes returned.

The Eye In Team

(Linked @ [livejournal.com profile] wishlist_fic and AO3; written for [livejournal.com profile] pronker)
jedibuttercup: (hawkeye)
PG-13, B:tVS/The Avengers, post-Cap 2 in the timeline; 1700 words. For Day 17 of 2013.

"Not to step on both your fragile male egos," Buffy rolled her eyes, "but they attacked me first. And you might have noticed the lack of octopi on their uniforms?"
