30 Day Photo Meme: Day 21

Not the usual wedding or graduation shots. Not that I don't have a ton of those; but (a) many of them have me in them - seriously don't even ask how many times I've been a bridesmaid; and (b) I wanted to make it a bit more challenging. So: one each for me, friend, and family ...

Day 21 - a photo of a special moment for yourself, your family or a friend


I've owned five different cars in my life. But of all the four I had to let go, I only cried over one: my second car, the one totaled by an idiot teenaged uninsured driver literally the week I finally got the title in the mail. (February, 2000)


The week we graduated college, a bunch of friends and I (maevebran pictured; yes, I really have known her half my life) decorated the driveway outside my campus apartment with Veggie Tales chalk art to celebrate. (April, 2000)


And ... the day my brother and my sister-in-law got engaged. At my parents' house.
... Exactly four years to the day before their daughter was born. (December, 2008)

Making that chalk art was fun. =) Scary to think about just how long we've know each other.=)

That first photo sucks. I sincerely hope you have better luck with cars in future!

The other two photos are awesome. :) I particularly like the photo of maevebran and the chalk art! I agree that a sense of play is essential in to health, both mental and physical, of people (and any slightly higher animals) at any age.

I went to college intending to earn straight A's, just like I had in high school; that only lasted until the second semester, when I finally made some friends. I think a 3.54 GPA instead of a 4.0 was not too much to trade for actually enjoying the experience. :)

Indeed! I'd actually bet that you managed to actually retain a bit more of what you learned than some of those folks who managed a 4.0, just because there really is such a thing as 'burn out'. Plus, there is a lot to be said for actually experiencing life instead of just reading about it or studying it.
