What is the Wishlist?

The Wishlist is a multi-fandom Christmas fanfiction fest. It started very small and simple three years ago: the premise was simply to write twenty-four ficlets in response to twenty-four prompts, posted between 1 Dec and 24 Dec. Fandom gifts, if you will. Since then it's grown and changed a bit.

The community and the rules in detail can be found here.

I have signed up to be a writer. If you want to give me a prompt, please leave a comment on this entry; and if you want to see what I wrote for it last year to get an idea of what you can ask, here's my 2010 master list.

Rules

  • I accept the first twenty-four prompts I am given, regardless of who you are or if I know you.
(ALL SPOTS FULL! If you missed it, I'm sure I'll be playing again next year. *grin*)

  • You give me characters/pairing, a fandom and a prompt.

  • If I'm not offering the fandom you're requesting, it doesn't count. (Unless you can talk me into it.)

The current offerings list is: Buffy/Angel-verse; Stargate SG-1/Atlantis; Firefly/Serenity; Eureka; Star Trek XI; Fast and the Furious series; Leverage; The Mummy/Mummy Returns series; The Dresden Files; The Sorcerer's Apprentice; Falling Skies; and, live-action Transformers.

  • Your prompts can be for a crossover or not. Either is fine. It can be a quote, an idea, a specific situation, but the more you give me, the more I have to work with. Throwing Character X/Character Y, whatever at me is going to get you whatever.

  • If you don't have an LJ account, you can give your DW/IJ/TtH/AO3/whatever name in an anonymous comment, but do make sure to sign it. If you do not sign with a name I will not use your prompt.

  • I answer the prompts in the order I like best and post them, one a day, starting 1st, Dec 2011.

And that's it! Prompt away: the 24 Days of Ficcish Christmas are only six weeks away!

(In the meantime, I'll be clearing the rest of the rewards and auction fic I owe; I haven't forgotten.)

Either/or. I've read all of the books, though, and seen not much of the teevee.

*\ o /* Cheers you on!

*smacks self in forehead* Okay, that was Trio for Lute by RA MacAvoy. Stupid brain.

Also, let me know if you need a refresher and I can send you a copy of the book (omnibus edition with Damiano, Damiano's Lute and Raphael...that latter of which is the most important).

That be the one! I'd be happy to send a copy of the book your way, too; just email me with your address.

Option 1: crossover between Star Trek IX and Star Trek Original Series; Jim Kirk meets Jim Kirk... and they don't much like each other.

I don't know if you're familiar with ST:TOS, so you might find this one too difficult. So I'll offer another option:

Option 2: continuation of your "Diverted Destiny" 'verse; Star Wars/BTVS; Luke, Buffy; Luke PoV "I sense much darkness here."

So happy I'm not quite too late!

Fandom: Firefly
Pairing: Mal/River
Prompt: River is trying to reorganize his ship, in various ways, and that's making Mal's life more difficult than he'd like it.

Super extra bonus points if you can manage a crossover with The Mummy, as I think Mal and Rick and River and Evie would get along marvelously.

As usual, my brain kicked out a weirder-than-average crossover idea:

Sorcerer's Apprentice/ST XI -- Spock Prime and Balthazar Blake cross paths in connection with an Ancient Vulcan Artifact[tm] that has somehow survived the events of the film. Maybe they need to work together to figure out what it does, or why it's on Earth, or keep it from being eaten by tribbles (okay, the tribbles are probably over the top)....

And I probably wouldn't have given this request to anyone else, but you've got such an amazing knack for combining unusual verses. If you're not sure you can work it out, just give me a shout and I'm sure I can come up with another prompt. :D

Oh good! I thought it would be fascinating to look at the differences (and similarities) between the two Kirks... it could go anywhere from silly crack to profound introspection...

I see you already have a lot of Dresden Files crossover requests. I don't want to be repetitive, but dude, the third Transformers movie happened in Chicago! Okay, it was a terrible piece of shite and Michael Bay should be strung up by his toes for what he's done to our beloved characters and canon, but hell... Whenever I wasn't cringing in horror I spent the entire movie just thinking, "Man, one good hexus from Harry could have saved them a LOT of trouble!"

Magic and Giant Alien Robots technology are non-mixing things. Plzkthx, y/n? ;P

Please forgive me for poking my nose in, but Jim Butcher had a similar reaction to the third transformer's flick. If you look at his Twitter feed (he's @longshotauthor) from that time period, he says something to that effect.

In fact, I found the tweet in question! "@longshotauthor @no_one_o9 Dresden, to Decepticons: Hexus, hexus, hexus, hexus."

Yays! Truth be told, I'm looking forward to reading your take on this prompt very nearly as much as I'm looking forward to your take on mine! *g*

The Sorcerer's Apprentice; Balthazar/Veronica / or & Horvath; for all that we know and all that we are, we're still lost and incomplete, helpless and unknowing.
