I keep coming back and reading this and my mind goes in ten thousand different directions at once.

One of the directions leads me to wonder if the means the Valar used to remove Valinor from Arda was akin to Merlin's device which took things, including entire planets, out of phase. Before Valinor was removed from Arda, there were areas of shadow and confusion on the seas, which led mariners astray who attempted to find Valinor, and I'm wondering how all of that is going to affect modern navigation and what effect it's going to have on GPS navigation, as well as magnetic compasses.

Another direction my mind went was to wonder what O'Neill's reaction is going to be when he finds out he's both a cousin and great umptynine times removed nephew of Sheppard's, since he's a scion of Aragorn's line (if I'm not mistaken). I can just imagine the snark Jack is going to unleash when he calls Sheppard "Uncle John".

And the way poor Sam's and McKay's minds are going to be blown at the notion of 'magic'; which shouldn't be too bad, considering the things the Nox are capable of doing with their minds. Not everything 'magical' within the Legendarium would be metaphorical, after all.

Speaking of the Nox, I wonder where they and the Furlings fit into things, as well as the Asgard.... Are the Furlings the Eldar and the Asgard somehow the remnants of Aulë's Children, the Dwarves, considering the Dwarves' penchant for tinkering and making and how seldom they bore children and how few Dwarven women were?

Jeez, did you ever open a can of worms; my mind just won't stop with this! I need to hit the Powerball or Mega Million's jackpot so I can become your patron and you can write for a living, like Jim Butcher; just without the pressure to publish constantly hanging over your head. :-p
