Well, in 8.20 "Moebius Part II" a copy of original Daniel (plus an AU rest of the team) got stranded in 2995 B.C. Presumably they lived out the rest of their lives there, and Daniel being Daniel (he was part of the leadership of the resistance against Ra at that point) I figured he might end up important enough to be entombed and mummified among other big-name non-pharoah figures. =)
