Cracked the first new book of 2022, so I'm starting my reading list for the year, too.
After 2020's high-water mark of 266 books, I didn't expect to come that close in 2021. But I still ended up reading a total of 79,727 pages: that's 218 per day, only 4 per day fewer than the previous year. It'll be interesting to see what happens in 2022!
In other stats: 28 were non-fiction this time; 14 were re-reads; and 20 were graphic novels. 156 were ebooks.
That's the most nonfiction yet; most of it historical. In genre analysis, of the 227 fictional books: 107 were science fiction (22 of which were media tie-ins, and 15 were LitRPG); 49 were fantasy of some variety (epic, urban, steampunk, etc.); 42 were romance, of which 33 were JAFF; and most of the rest were mystery, thrillers, drama, and so on, many of them in a historical setting. Five were considered YA.
[One fun additional note: since I started using LibraryThing in 2007, all my books have been datestamped as I entered them. As an extra OCD additional challenge, I decided that as extra motivation to make progress on my TBR pile, I should read at least one book stamped for each year I've been tracking. Qapla'!]
So, on to Year Sixteen of book tracking!
Book stats through 251 include 8 rereads, 39 nonfiction, 7 ya, 161 ebooks and 16 graphic novels.
