Cracked the first new book of 2020
Total books bounced back up in 2019 from the last three years' lower counts, working out to a little better than ten books per month, for a total pagecount of 48,690. 125 books is no 144 (IDK how I had that much energy in 2012, but my fic output that year was insane too) but it's definitely respectable. Hopefully I manage to at least keep steady in 2020. :)
In other stats: 10 were non-fiction this time (same as last year); 19 were re-reads (compared to 27); and 7 were graphic novels (versus 10).
In additional analysis, 95 of the 115 fictional books were identified as part of a series or larger creative universe of some kind. In terms of genre: 51 were science fiction (10 of which were Star Wars tie-ins); 17 were fantasy of some variety (epic, urban, etc.); and 24 were mystery or thrillers or drama, often in a historical setting. 23 were romance (very unusual for me), fully 14 of which were Jane Austen variations (which may explain it). Only four were considered YA.
So, on to Year Fourteen of book tracking!
Book stats through 266 include 15 rereads, 17 nonfiction, 9 ya, 179 ebooks and 11 graphic novels.
