I caught bits of the show growing up, and watched the new movie once; it was fun, but not the best message!

I'm from the South, and have a whole family branch living out in the swamps of Louisiana, so I always wince a little when that stereotype gets dragged into Hollywood-- but yeah, there's a certain percentage of truth to it. (And even the ones who don't live up to it have to know how people not-from-around-here will react.)
