(First, an apology, for taking so long to comment on this. I didn’t feel that I was entitled to do anything else till I’d completed my own assignment, and never dreamed that would take me so long.)

This story was beautifully, beautifully, beautifully done. It took the framework of [livejournal.com profile] sroni’s original, and followed it out in breathtaking application of layers and depth. Like her, I was vastly tickled by the inclusion of the cave frogs, but that was a long way from being the only (or even the best) part of this story. I could feel the reality of the characters in every section, and the cumulative effect — Zoe reaching the point where she was at last ready to return home — just felt right.

I’m not sorry I managed to guilt you into taking part in this round. It was worth it.
