The crack crossovers meme, part 3! This, too, courtesy of
joonscribble.
Same fandoms as the first batch, but different characters from those fandoms, for spice; order randomized.
1. Kim Guziewicz (Battle Creek)
2. Lucy McClane (Die Hard)
3. Ichabod Crane (Sleepy Hollow)
4. Rick Grimes (The Walking Dead)
5. Letty Ortiz (Fast and the Furious)
6. Samantha "Root" Groves (Person of Interest)
7. Jake Stone (The Librarians)
8. Caine Wise (Jupiter Ascending)
9. Ms. Perkins (John Wick)
10. Ravi Chakrabarti (iZombie - TV)
1. Out of all ten characters listed, which one is the most intelligent? Who is the dumbest?
There are a lot of highly intelligent characters in this list, many with advanced degrees or extra gifts like photographic memory or mental connection to an artificial intelligence. But it's explicitly stated that Jake Stone has an IQ of 190, so I'm going to give him the thumbs up there.
Dumbest? Hard to say. If you mean in terms of what the character did, Ms. Perkins gets that nod, for deliberately crossing an institution of assassins for $$ and then blithely going to meet the Management afterward as if she didn't think there'd be consequences; if you mean in terms of education, probably Letty or Caine, because I don't think she went to college and as a splice I doubt Caine got more than whatever the legion trained into him. But for raw IQ? Couldn't begin to guess.
2.What is the worst crime 9 (Ms. Perkins) has ever committed?
Ahahaha. As a cold-blooded assassin, I'm going to go with murder for hire.
3. 1 (Kim Guziewicz) and 4 (Rick Grimes) must fix a dinner together. How do they cooperate in the kitchen? What kind of food do they fix, if any at all?
Assuming pre-ZA or a settled environment? I think they'd be competent but not gourmets about the process of cooking; they're both law enforcement officers have raised children but also worked long hours. So they probably know the comfort foods best. And they'd probably split duties and just go about it without fuss; she'd send him out to cook the meat while she tossed a salad and other fixings together, or else brown some ground beef and make a bowl of spaghetti while he does the fixings, something like that.
4. What channel (Disney, Discovery, National Geographic, et cetera) does 5 (Letty Ortiz) watch the most?
Why would she want to park in front of the TV at all? She'd rather be living life. If the guys are watching a movie or playing a video game, sure, she'll hang out or kick their asses, but TV? Nah.
5. 7 (Jake Stone) and 3 (Ichabod Crane) are walking down a street at night when they hear 2 (Lucy McClane) cry for help. What does 2 (Lucy McClane) need help with, and will 7 (Jake Stone) and/or 3 (Ichabod Crane) help them?
Two guys whose professions involve saving people and/or the world? Yes, they'll definitely help.
If Lucy McClane was just facing a couple of muggers or a problem of similar scale she'd be perfectly capable of kicking ass and taking names on her own, so she's probably being kidnapped again by minions of one of her dad's enemies; and both the Librarian and ex-Revolutionary War Soldier are smart and experienced enough to successfully rescue her.
6. Does 8 (Caine Wise) keep a clean room?
He was bred to order and then sold to the Legion, so I imagine that was trained into him early on.
7. 5 (Letty Ortiz) and 10 (Ravi Chakrabarti) run a country together – what state is the country in, and how is it run?
Ahahahaha. Two people who live their lives enthusiastically pursuing their own interests? They would hate that. Ravi would probably end up doing more of the paperwork and actual ruling by default, and mourning the loss of time to do his forensic experiments, and probably get frequently distracted. Letty would be too restless to sit around and do nothing; she'd go get personally involved, and end up trying to settle justice with a personal touch. It would all be a little chaotic but generally good intentioned; if they could bring the rest of their teams in to delegate the boring parts to, it might be OK, but otherwise, I don't see their government lasting long.
8. 6 (Root) may have possibly come into contact with a deadly disease, so she’s being quarantined. They’re allowed to bring something along with them – a book or video game - to keep them entertained. What would 6 (Root) bring?
Why bring anything? She has her cochlear implant linked directly to the Machine; she'd probably spend most of the time discussing complex concepts and plans and such with the AI she thinks of as her god.
9. 8 (Caine Wise) is kidnapped by 2 (Lucy McClane) and forced to play a game of Scrabble or die – and if 8 (Caine Wise) loses, 2 (Lucy McClane) will kill them. Who is likely to win the game of Scrabble, and if 8 (Caine Wise) loses, how does 2 (Lucy McClane) kill them?
Such a kidnapping could only ever happen if Lucy went evil, or was thoroughly convinced that Caine was evil (say, that he'd hurt her family somehow). She's her father's daughter; no one could make her threaten someone she saw as an innocent. And the kidnapping couldn't be a misunderstanding or prank either, because it would take too much work to kidnap Caine in the first place - you'd have to disable his wings and his gravity skates at a minimum, and neither's exactly Earth-standard technology.
It is a mystery to me why she'd make him play a game of Scrabble; maybe there was enough maybe-fault involved she thought she'd give him a random chance at surviving? Or if she had some reason to test his written English skills? Who won would depend on what method Caine is using to learn/speak/translate from his language of origin to English; if it translates over to written English, that tech would let him 'win' at least on points (though maybe a fail on his linguistic skills, following the theorized plot), but if it doesn't, then Lucy would trounce him. And if Lucy 'won', however you want to define that? Again, she's her father's daughter. Putting a quick end to him with a gun would probably be her favored choice.
10. What is 4’s (Rick Grimes') favorite time of day?
Probably dawn. The walkers are still quiet from the chill of night, and the world is cast in liquid light, like maybe all the hope hasn't already been sucked out of it. Like things are beginning again, instead of decaying to an end.
11. 4 (Rick Grimes), 9 (Ms. Perkins), and 3 (Ichabod Crane) get snowed in while at a cabin in the mountains. They have one twin bed, two blankets, a few bottles of water, and a little bit of beef jerky. Who gets what? Who suffers the most while they wait out the storm?
Both Rick and Ichabod are used to sleeping rough, one in whatever shelter could be found post-ZA and the other as a late-1700's soldier; they'd let Ms. Perkins take the bed, and use the blankets themselves. Similarly, they'd probably give her the jerky and take the water. She's much more used to the finer things in life; stranded in a storm would bother her more than the others.
12. If 7 (Jake Stone) could steal anything – an object, a talent, or trait – from 6 (Root), what would it be?
Her access to the Machine, maybe? Though not via a cochlear implant like hers; he's already sensitive enough about his intelligence showing to people he cares about who value muscle over brains, he wouldn't want to be observed talking to people who aren't there, either. But he could really get behind that kind of resource for helping people and finding things in the course of his Librarian role.
13. Of all the characters, who has the best hygiene?
Probably Caine, again due to his space legionary background. Or Ms. Perkins, who'd use her ill-gotten gains to buy only the best supplies.
14. 1 (Kim Guziewicz), 4 (Rick Grimes), and 10 (Ravi Chakrabarti) are all staying the night in a haunted house. Who would be scared? Would any of them be skeptical? How does each of them sleep?
Ravi would freak out before either of the other two; he'd also be the most inclined to want to set up tests and see what's actually causing it. He's a forensic scientist, and they're cops; they'd be much more inclined to just dismiss any idea of a ghost and set up in a defensible location to await a physical invader. I don't know if any of them would actually sleep; if they did, Guz and Rick would make sure to sleep in turns so one person with a gun was always awake.
15. What would be the worst possible job 1 (Kim Guziewicz) could work?
Guz is a strong, tough, tall woman, used to being in charge and dealing with criminals and politicians and other cops. She's a mother, but has trouble adjusting to an adult relationship with her now-grown adopted son. So probably - something that would require her to be more traditionally feminine and not in control, like a makeup counter salesperson, or flight attendant, or something.
16. 6 (Root), 8 (Caine Wise), and 9 (Ms. Perkins) must compete in a talent show. What do they do for their talent, and who would win?
Oooo. Some kind of target-related sport, provided Root currently has her connection to the Machine active. Root's extremely deadly with a gun in 'god mode'; Caine's a highly trained legionaire from an advanced society; and Ms. Perkins is an assassin who can command fees in the millions. I wouldn't be surprised by a three-way tie.
17. What is 2’s (Lucy McClane's) biggest pet peeve?
Her dad following her around and stalking her boyfriends. Seriously, John?
18. If 5 (Letty Ortiz) won the lottery for 25 million dollars, what would they do with the money?
Probably the same thing her lover did with his 10 million after the Rio take: live well under the radar, and keep a reserve against future family adventures.
19. What was 10’s (Ravi Chakrabarti's) favorite toy growing up?
Judging by the enthusiasm with which he plays video games with his current roommate, probably some form of electronic gaming system (Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation, etc.)
20. Make up an e-mail address for 7 (Jake Stone).
stonyman @ thelibrary.org
21. If 8 (Caine Wise) had an iPod or some kind of music player, what kinds of songs would you find in it?
If Caine has an iPod, it's one Jupiter's given him to familiarize him with Earth music; and it would be stocked with a mix of whatever pop tunes catch her fancy and Russian stuff that she grew up on at home.
22. What would you do if 9 (Ms. Perkins) suddenly paid you a visit?
Run the hell away and pray. She's not just an assassin, she's an amoral, cold-blooded assassin; if she paid me a visit, it could only be for one reason, though it would be a mystery why I was her target.
23. Do you think 6 (Root) and 4 (Rick Grimes) are made for each other?
.... No. Root's type is as sociopathic, smart-mouthed, and female as she is; and Rick's type is not waiflike and crazy even after his wife's exit.
24. What subject would 1 (Kim Guziewicz) teach if s/he were a teacher/professor? Would s/he be good at it?
If it was as a side job or after her canonical career as a cop? Some flavor of legal and justice system feeder coursework. She'd be strict, but knowledgeable, and fair and understanding where it was deserved.
25. 8 (Caine Wise) and 6 (Root) go on their first date. Where would they go, and what would they do?
If Caine's on Earth long enough to date at all, then this has to be post-movie. But even if he and Jupiter have decided they don't suit, he's probably still working with her in her alternate identity as space princess and Abrasax heiress, as guard or advisor or something. And he's been shown to be interested in rather petite, self-possessed human women. Meanwhile Root would not have been settled enough to date pre-Machine; so she's probably already part of the Mission. And we'll assume for this question that though she's only been shown to be interested in Sameen Shaw, something about Caine trips the same level of intrigue in her despite his gender.
Therefore, their first date would probably be more along the lines of jointly defeating some threat to Earth of space invader origin, which endangers not only Jupiter's ownership but also the lives of the 'irrelevant' under the Machine's purview. There would be much adrenaline and gunfire and saving of the world involved! Which, I guess, is one way to test your chemistry with someone. :)
26. 1 (Kim Guziewicz) receives a gift from 9 (Ms. Perkins). Does s/he open it or not? If so, what is inside?
Not if she has the least idea who Ms. Perkins is; and probably not if it was just from an unexpected or unfamiliar or no-label origin, regardless. She's a police captain - bombs, powdered poisons, trophys, threats, or any other kind of ugliness might be inside! She'd send it to the forensic folks instead of finding out first hand.
27. 4 (Rick Grimes) is walking home when s/he sees a cute fluffy creature, which promptly begins rubbing itself against his/her legs. Will s/he kick it away, or take it home?
Rick has a soft heart under his rough do-anything-to-survive-and-protect-my-family surface. On the other hand, he will do anything to survive and protect his family in a world filled with zombies. So if they're in a position not to worry about hunger? He'd give it to Carl and baby Judy. But if his people are starving? Hey, an easy meal!
28. 5 (Letty Ortiz) is dared by 4 (Rick Grimes) to strip while pole-dancing in front of 2 (Lucy McClane). Write a short dialogue about this.
... I can't deliberately write people out of character, and that would never happen. Shane? Yes. Rick? No. The only scenario in which I can imagine Rick asking Letty (or any woman not Lori) to strip would involve checking for zombie bites after a close fight; in which case there's an extremely minimal chance that any pole dancing would be involved.
29. What smiley/emoticon would best describe 7 (Jake Stone)?
=]:D
(cowboy hat smiley)
30. If you had the chance to rewrite 6's (Root's) life, how would you change it?
Computers have made more sense to her than people all her life. But the turning point that sent her down a crazy and homicidal road was when she saw her friend Hanna Frey get into a man's car, then disappear forever, and the authorities were actively hostile when she tried to reveal what she had seen, leaving her to avenge her friend on her own.
I would put someone in the library that day who would believe her, with the authority to rescue her friend. She could still be a genius programmer, and get outraged enough to be part of the Machine's cause as an adult who believes for example that her friends Nathan and Harold were killed over the software they'd sold the government, and so on....
