Date: 2011-09-14 09:10 am (UTC)As for the person wanting to adopt your story... (shakes head and sighs). There appears to be a segment of fandom, especially around ffn, who seem to think that
(a) any story which hasn't been updated in a year is abandoned, whether or not the author has said so
(b) any abandoned story is fair game to be finished by someone else
This person is worse than usual, because they didn't even wait a year before assuming it was abandoned. On the other hand... they get plus points for contacting you - some don't bother - and minus points for informing you of their intent rather than asking permission.
Holy presumptions, Batman!
I would be wary, in case they decide to go ahead without your permission.
