Personally, all the changes they put Daniel through reminded me a lot of what happened to Wes; he had some moments I winced at later on, but I got where they were going with him, and a lot of my Daniel-fic are explorations of how to turn those changes in positive directions. But we can agree to disagree there. =)

Regardless, my vision for this 'verse includes Wes and Jonas staying with the SGC even after Daniel's return. And given that Wes is not a carbon copy replacement (so to speak) like Jonas, if I ever get that far I'd keep him on the team and make it a 5-man unit in fact.
