I know it's interesting to imagine how the new crew might deal with, say, Khan-- but there is really no excuse for Old!Spock to just leave that disaster-waiting-to-happen out there, when he's already established that he won't hesitate to interfere.

I thought about calling him Solkar after his great-granddad ("Sarek, son of Skon, son of Solkar") but I saw some meta flying around about which of the animated episodes were considered to have had lasting influence on the 'verse, and in one Spock goes back and saves his seven-year-old self and introduces himself as Selek, supposedly a family cousin. I've never seen any of TAS, but I thought it as good a name as any, and one others in the fandom might appreciate. =)
