I can see them thinking about doing a series because it was the most-watched miniseries that Scifi has come up with. I agree that they'll certainly have to explain a bunch of stuff if they do produce a series.

The BSG miniseries was the result of the producers shopping around the idea of a remake series and Scifi wanting to test the water, as it were. So, yeah... BSG was meanth to be a pilot.
