Well, they say flat out in the show that Sheppard doesn't have any actual buddies left; they all died on him. But if they'd crossed paths at some point or other in the past, sure that would work.

Should have remembered that, was just trying to think of a quick example. I like the idea of the two of them crossing paths, knowing which units in the military they were in, and what happened to those units.


I just have a problem with "Oh, hi old friend! Let's tell each other everything we're up to!" sort of plotlines. =)


Oh yes, those tend to be annoying and anti-cannon. I could do a whole essay on why that is wrong in many different fandoms.
