Seven Seasons of Buffy: Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Discuss Their Favorite Television Show
It was published in '03, so it didn't incorporate all of canon, but still pretty interesting. The essay in question is "Matchmaking on the Hellmouth", pp. 188-195, by Lawrence Watt-Evans, where he discusses possible matches for Buffy; Wes is the last one he mentions, and calls him "perfect" for her. =)
