An Awarding Experience
Wow, looks like I won some awards while I was off in Real Life Land, too. I knew I'd been nominated in several categories in the Crossing Over Awards over at Twisting the Hellmouth, but given the competition I didn't think I'd win any. (There are a thousand plus authors at the site, and many times more than that in readers).
Well, I did! Three of them!

(With 34.7% of the votes: Starting Over, PG-13, 3500 words, A:tS/SG-1)

(With 18.4% of the votes: The Five Stages of Grief, PG-15, ~15,000 words, B:tVS/A:tS finale fic)

(Mod Choice: Here, at the End of All Things, PG-13, 1400 words, SG-1/Terminator 3)
The other nominations I received were:
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who nominated and voted for me. The total of 20 nominations was astounding enough; the fact that I actually won anything is totally thrilling.

I hear people complain that they resent giving so much more to fandom than they get out of it, but things like this make me glad that's not my experience. =)

I still can't believe so many people like my stuff; I don't write pr0n, I'm allergic to cliche, and Buffy's my favorite character. Not very typical of author's I'm used to seeing praised, or authors I tend to praise, for that matter. =)

I really appreciate hearing you say that. Sometimes when I'm writing I get worried that I've gone a little too far off the map. =)
