What is the Wishlist?

The Wishlist is a multi-fandom Christmas fanfiction fest. It started very small and simple several years ago: the premise was simply to write twenty-four ficlets in response to twenty-four prompts, posted between 1 Dec and 24 Dec. Fandom gifts, if you will. Since then it's grown and changed a bit.

I have signed up to be a writer. If you want to give me a prompt, please leave a comment on this entry; and if you want to see what I wrote for it in past fests, just click the wishlist tag.

Rules

• I accept the first 24 prompts I am given, regardless of who you are or if I know you.

• You give me characters/pairing, a fandom and a prompt. (Please don't skip the prompt part).



• If I'm not offering the fandom you're requesting, I reserve the right to refuse the prompt.
  
  The regular offerings list is: Buffy/Angel-verse (no comics); Stargate SG-1; Firefly/Serenity; Star Trek XI or TOS; The Marvel Cinematic Universe (Avengers, Guardians, etc.); Eureka; the Fast and the Furious series; Leverage; The Dresden Files; Grimm; Falling Skies; The Walking Dead; Person of Interest; Sleepy Hollow; and the Riddick-verse. (You could probably also make a case for things I've watched, read, or written for lately that didn't make the 'very familiar fandoms' list; check my left-margin bookmarks for that.)
  
  
• If I find your prompt in any way offensive, I will disregard it, too. Fair warning.



• Your prompts can be for a crossover or not - either is fine - and should be in line with what I usually write. (That's a loose guideline, I know, but basically don't be deliberately ornery, okay? I don't have the energy for it.) It can be a quote, an idea, a specific situation, but the more you give me, the more I have to work with. Throwing Character X/Character Y, 'whatever' at me is going to get you 'whatever'.



• If you don't have an LJ account, you can give your DW/IJ/TtH/AO3/whatever name in an anonymous comment, but do make sure to sign it. If you do not sign with a name I will not use your prompt.



• I answer the prompts in the order I like best and post them, one a day, starting 1st, Dec 2014. (At least, that's the goal. I may not hit it, especially this last year considering certain RL events, but whatever I don't make, I'll finish before the next December 1 for sure; I always have).

If sequels to previous fics are okay, I would like to request a followup to in what distant deeps or skies, your Dresden Files/MCU crossover. Um. Scenario: Natasha has to inform the wizards that HYDRA was aware of them and they were on the Project Insight target list.

I'll try to leave this on lj too, to make sure you get it; couldn't figure out how to send PMs on AO3.

Normally I'm all for continuations. But the problem with your particular request is that (1) the original requester specifically said not to use that character; and (2) the way AO3 links gifts to their recipients, it's always going to show up in their gift box, and if I continue it they'll always be able to see that too. Even if I make a new post and point back in any way to "this is a continuation of", it'll be easy enough for them to tell. And that's really rude gifting etiquette. Some might not care, but it would bug me forever.

Sorry; please pick something else.

Riddick-verse: in Pitch Black *haven't seen any others* Riddick was captured by Johns, but how? Would enjoy any delving into the actual circumstances. Humor is always appreciated!

Whew; I have a moment to spare between adventures today, and time to do a prompt. Given that I asked for sequels last year, I think I'll go a different direction this time out. So:

Your choice of either:

(a) Nick Fury passes through Sleepy Hollow while living off the grid post-Winter Soldier, and gets caught in the crossfire of an encounter between Ichabod Crane and the Horseman. Everybody walks away, but not without having their eyes opened.

(b) Castle/MCU; Kate Beckett and Pepper Potts went to school together back in the day, which comes in handy when Alexis Castle decides she wants to work for Stark Industries. How does Alexis' dad react, and how many Avengers does Alexis meet on her first day?

... would you mind terribly if I take revealed facts from the latest Riddick movie into account, though? (Nothing hugely spoilery I don't think, except some character names/history will probably come up for texture; unless you mind, I'll probably claim it later as backstory for the Riddick series I was working on.)

Heh. I'm still trying to figure out which of your sequel requests to write; I wanted to do the Avengers/SA one, but Pepper isn't even present for the events of the attack, so I can't do it as a direct continuation, but on the other hand Castle is still making me crazy given the events of canon, so. :) But I will get to it before the month is up, I swear.

Hmmm. Both of those prompts would be interesting! I'm leaning toward the Fury one right now (again given my current feelings about Castle) but we'll see. That's 9/24.

Okay - I've heard that a love interest was added to the series (no surprise there, ha!) but if possible, could it be that the LI not be a very big part of the fic? Revealed facts shall be scrutinized gleefully~

Ugh, NO, she totally isn't a love interest. No problem there. (At least, not one I could take at all seriously, given that she states repeatedly she's a lesbian and any 'keep it warm for me' remarks come off to me more as teasing.) Nah, I meant more about Johns' family. :)

Oh wait a minute, unless you mean the possible love interest from Movie 2 who ... has other issues that would prevent me from writing her that way. I was talking about Movie 3. :)
