What is the Wishlist?

The Wishlist is a multi-fandom Christmas fanfiction fest. It started very small and simple several years ago: the premise was simply to write twenty-four ficlets in response to twenty-four prompts, posted between 1 Dec and 24 Dec. Fandom gifts, if you will. Since then it's grown and changed a bit.

I have signed up to be a writer. If you want to give me a prompt, please leave a comment on this entry; and if you want to see what I wrote for it last year to get an idea of what you can ask, here are my 2010 and 2011 master lists.

Rules

• I accept the first twenty-four prompts I am given, regardless of who you are or if I know you.
  (ALREADY FULL AFTER 17 HOURS; YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY. IF YOU MISSED IT, TRY NEXT YEAR!)



• You give me characters/pairing, a fandom and a prompt.



• If I'm not offering the fandom you're requesting, it doesn't count. (Unless you can talk me into it.)
  
  The current offerings list is: Buffy/Angel-verse; Stargate SG-1/Atlantis; Firefly/Serenity; Star Trek XI or TOS; The Avengers (MCU); Fast and the Furious series; Leverage; The Dresden Files; Grimm; Falling Skies; Terra Nova; The Walking Dead; Person of Interest; and, probably other shows or movies I've written for in the last year or so (here's my fic list on AO3, if you want to try your luck).



• If I find your prompt in any way offensive, I will disregard it, too. Fair warning.



• Your prompts can be for a crossover or not. Either is fine. It can be a quote, an idea, a specific situation, but the more you give me, the more I have to work with. Throwing Character X/Character Y, whatever at me is going to get you whatever.



• If you don't have an LJ account, you can give your DW/IJ/TtH/AO3/whatever name in an anonymous comment, but do make sure to sign it. If you do not sign with a name I will not use your prompt.



• I answer the prompts in the order I like best and post them, one a day, starting 1st, Dec 2012.

Balthazar Blake (Sorcerer's Apprentice) encounters Loki, probably during or shortly after the battle for New York in the Avengers movie. Deviousness ensues, by no means all of it on Loki's side of the ledger.

#5. That could get interesting! Though I warn you I know very, very little about the comics and thus nothing more about HYDRA than what we got in Captain America, so things might get a bit fuzzy as to plot specifics there!

I've been dying for some Buffy/Renard or Buffy/Nick (since Nick seems to be the male equivalent of a slayer). Your tempting me to change my prompt, you tempter you. But I'm going to hold the line. *Sadly pets the Nick and the Renard* Maybe next year.

Pairing: Buffy/Neal
Prompt: Neal loves a challenge. Buffy has a thing for morally gray men with hearts of gold. Both had unforgettable first loves that they thought they would never get over. Then they meet each other. Never suddenly becomes now. Let the games begin. Basically I'd like the sequel to the "The Truth That Is Given."

TV Dresden Files/Angel

Post series for both. Wesley somehow survives the finale and sets up shop in Chicago. Two private detectives in the supernatural business must cross paths at some point. Some type of interaction between Harry, Bob, and Wes. Distrust, misunderstandings, mistakes, and sarcasm ensue. All three of their knowledge and experience are needed. If they can somehow work together, they just might solve the case.

That's #11! (Though are you asking for a fusion, or Wesley more formally ending up in Harry's universe somehow? I've done this sort of cross both ways, but I can't just not address it, because the two magic systems as they stand are pretty comprehensively incompatible.)

How fun for you! And looking at/squeeing over the Star Wars xover that you wrote some time ago on my prompt, I take hat in hand and ask for a Star Wars prompt -

but it's not a crossover. Instead ...

Obi-Wan/Padme *Obidala* and the description comes from this morning's darthsanddroids in which the principals describe their actions and then resolve it, whereupon a minor character *handmaiden, Jar-Jar* relates the situation from their POV.

The Walking Dead
Cast as of end of S2, mostly gen, but background Lori/Rick & Glen/Maggie is fine.
I'd like to see them "celebrate" their first XMAS post-apocalypse. Your choice as to whether it is hopeful/angsty or a combination of both.

Prompt #17! I've wondered about that kind of thing: the Machine has to be able to see the whole country, and yet it always spits out Numbers they can deal with in New York City? The obvious answer is that there are a lot of Numbers that he just chooses not to pass on to John ....

I must confess to being very curious as to what you'd do with Once Upon a Time, Emma-Gold (doesn't need to be a pairing, doesn't need to be season-2 compliant if you're not watching anymore). No prompt, because I'm more curious as to what you'd come up with, although I guess I could come up with one (how about, "Honesty isn't the best colour on Mr. Gold").

But since it's neither one of the fandoms you listed nor one of the ones you've written for, and quite possibly you are not even interested in the fandom anymore, feel free to completely disregard this comment, I will be totally happy with that -- I just had to ask, since you said we could at least try our luck :)

Oh, I'm still interested in the fandom; I'm just a little intimidated by the prospect of wading in as a writer, especially since you filled in some of my biggest wishes with your awesome stories. =)

... But I'd be game, as long as you're not expecting great literature (the stories I write for Wishlist tend to be quickly dashed off little things, one to three thousand words long). That would make you prompter #18/24!

You'd have to reach pretty hard to find a plot angle that would actually bother me; the disclaimer's just there for form, in case someone wants me to write characterbash or full on porn or something. I get some of my best stories from prompt venues like Wishlist!

Well, I did say you could try your luck ... it really depends on the fandom, as ones that I'm not fresh up on or enthusiastic about can be problematic.

I have no problem writing Buffy @ SHIELD, of course! But if there's something else you think I might jump all over, you could suggest it as an alternative ...?

Let's go with...Leverage! I'd like to see Elliott and Parker at least. One or the other (or maybe both) are turned into mer-people (You decide how that's manifested: legs all the time, but can breathe underwater; legs on land, tail in the water [and what triggers the change, if not simple immersion]; tail all the time; do they have gills; can they actually breathe underwater, or do they need to surface like all other aquatic mammals; can they talk underwater, or even in mer-form.). How does the rest of the team deal with that? How do they incorporate the new "mer-ness" into the team's operations?
