Wow, there's a lot of red square mileage in Oregon. Including my county; I didn't know that! Pity the blue counties also happen to be the most populous ones. And that one the most strongly blue of all. I think the next nearest is Benton county, at 69%.

Anyway, the whole election reminds me - and not necessarily in a good way - of a fairly recent Orson Scott Card book called "Empire." Have you read it? It's a little different from his sci-fi / fantasy norm as it is set is very near future US and deals with a only partially unrealistic civil war. Well worth it - as, of course, is true with nearly everything he writes. :)
