Okay, I lied.

When Book died, I TOTALLY thought he said to Mal "believe in her." Not just believe in SOMETHING - believe in RIVER.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. I can't find it in the shooting script, but quite a few things were tweaked in that dialogue.
