And going sheerly on my reaction to the Leia-scene, I'd vote "yea" on including paralleling moments. I don't know that you have to, but it really seemed to work--because we know where Luke *should* be in his home universe, and the differences (divergences, *g*) will be very interesting to see.
My gut reaction is to agree with you, but it's slowing me down, as I now have to go back and pick through "The Truce at Bakura" to remember what's supposed to happen immediately after ROTJ. And dang, they really did need Luke on that mission, not to mention the fact that he needed considerable medical attention for his electrocution. Plus, the Millenium Falcon was just as close to the explosion of the Death Star as Luke was, so I have to decide whether they came through, too. *sigh*
I'll get there, though; I'm too interested to just let this cross-universe drop now. =)
