The truth of the matter is that every author brings his/her own approach to a remix. As a result there’s a lot of variety, and most of that is part of the fun. Your performance here was absolutely respectable. If not for your comment about doing your best to preserve the original story with your own stamp, simply because you liked it that much, I might have suspected you of being a little skittish about making this one your own … but, plenty of other authors choose the same course, and it’s one of the perfectly valid approaches.
