I could actually see Mouse living a couple hundred years, possibly more, because of his magical nature, but Harry leads a dangerous life, so one never knows. Unfortunately, not Mister, unless Harry manages to find a way to bind Bob into him, giving Mister a longer lifespan in the process (considering Bob has occasionally 'ridden' Mister, after the manner of a Loa and Bokor). However, if neither has made it this far with Harry, I can definitely see him keeping a standard pet. Once you're used to having the company of a cat and/or dog around, you really miss them. I think Harry would agree that there just is no 'replacing' of pets, just like there's no replacing of people, but we can always love and be loved by someone (and I include critters in that) new coming into our lives. In fact, I think Harry would probably get that better than most, all things considered.

Of course I just had to run and read "Gather Seashells While You May" again once you pointed it out. I have to wonder what Kaylee's reaction is going to be when she meets Harry again? And River's reaction to Harry...that's gonna be interesting for certain. Yep, definitely something I need to keep in mind for your next prompt request! *g*
