The Goa'uld summit fell at a really interesting time in Daniel's character development, right before he essentially gave up anyway (aka Ascension); so I think it's really possible that a clever, shades-of-gray type Goa'uld (who according to canon wants Earth protected rather than subjugated anyway) might be able to get him to cooperate in the interests of saving lives.

One of these days, the next time I get a chance to watch a chunk of season 6 (which I'll have to do anyway, to get back to that Wes at the SGC storyline), I'll have to poke at this some more. :)
